Bought my 2013 Speed3 back in 2014 with 11,000 miles on it. Just rolled over 43,000 a few days ago. Went to Carmax and they went on and on about how nice it was. No accidents. I’m the 2nd owner. Pretty much convinced me to keep it even though that wasn’t their intention.

that is awesome to hear man! 43,000 is low! I have been trying to think of car I would rather own for the price and I cant do it. It is such a great bargain. tons of fun, tons of potential, tons of space, list goes on. Sure its limited by FWD but it is such a great car to drive that it doesnt matter imo. Keeps up with new 370z in the corners and straights and thats good enough for me. It is still a hatchback lol

Hey so I upgrade to a Cobb SRI on my 2011 mazdaspeed3, was getting locked out of third gear so I got a corksport rmm. Still getting locked out of 3rd and some times at high rpm shifting from 2nd to 3rd it grinds 3rd. Should I get new transmission fluid or is something wrong with my trans or clutch?

I’m torn between the speed 3 and speed 6 but ppl keep saying the 6 is worse especially the awd system but damn both are so nice I can’t decide, what do you think?

Dose of Jay well it really comes down do you want/need the awd because that’s one of the biggest differences. The engine is the same, but the drive train and bodies are different. Sedan or hatch, fwd or awd. But the awd system is kinda shitty so a lot of people delete it and make them fwd. but they both make good power and have tons of modding potential. So i thinks it’s personal preferences. Also all speed6s will be older then speed3s as the 6 was made in 2006 and the speed3 was made in 2007

I was just wondering, do you think the fuel pump should be upgraded even if the only modification done to the car is a short ram Intake. I am looking into buying a gen 1 and the person I am buying it from has a short ram intake, but has not upgraded the fuel pump. If I buy the car, should I upgrade it?

weston macmillan nah you should be fine, but if you plan on doing anything else I’d scoop up an accessport and hpfp

Justin Fay it looked better when the wheels were black, but soon I’m gonna swap them for a silver one to have them match my wheels

@@NewOrleansSpeed Very rare. Originally had my eyes on speed3s, saw a mean looking speed6 in my area, fell in love with speed6. Not really easy to find a speed6 so a speed3 might do, seems the speed6 is prone to more issues as well.

Oliver Lorenzo a nice speed6 is rare for sure, don’t see many anymore. But they do have their fair share of issues, same with the 1st gen speeds. They are sweet tho haha

Even more rare if you can find a low mileage stock one.

Hey man, in the process of looking for a new car and the Speed3 is definitely up there. How do you find the torque steering with the car? I've heard from both sides that it's manageable to it's almost disgusting to control. I will test drive one myself to find that out further but just wanted to know.

MultiSS55 manageable, but i have most of my mounts upgraded. But torque steer only really hits in 1-2, but you shouldn’t be flooring it in 1st or 2nd anyway lol

Good tires and a new rmm will help the torque steer and wheel hop

That sounds good then, thanks. The MPS is really looking good so far on my list. I liked the video as well, good pointers on some important things to watch out for which I'll make sure to use when I inspect.

I don't know if it's just me but does the paint on these things chip off pretty easy..I just picked up one and seems like I keep on finding new paint chip areas.

Oh i have no clue. I would add yourself to the Mazdaspeed3 owners Facebook group and ask the question there. It sounds like an issue with the tranny and not anything else. How many miles on the car?

NewOrleansSpeed it only has 41,000 miles and my boy has a 2013 with 45,000 miles and it does the same thing he said. I'll ask in the group see what they say

NOVAPRIME weird I’ve never heard that issue before. But ya I’d ask in the group or hit up the forums

One questions lately I been running my car and it use to peak at 21 or 25 psi depended on the map the tuner sent me bc I have two and lately in both of them I have not been able to peak boost I can’t even get 20 psi maybe the closest was 19.35 and sometimes when I hit 19 say it goes lower

itsZeid so normally a tuner sets a Target pressure and the ecu then attempts to hit said targets, but it isn’t always so. I used to be on the Cobb ots tunes that peaked at 18, but i only ever got to 16. It

Also it all depends on weather, temps, gear, throttle position etc.

itsZeid do you have an upgraded turbo? Cause 25 is a lot for the stocker. I rarely touch 21 and I’m FBO and e30

Well when I bought the car from the dealership a guy that worked in The mechanic area had a speed 3 and said he knew that owner of the mazda and said he had a different turbo same size but different so maybe I’m guessing corkposrt but I just haven’t taken things apart to really check it out and yea I was on Cobb ots until I went with freetune

I just hope it’s nothing really bad lol I got a code yesterday P0138 H02 high circuit something like that but I doubt that’s has to do something with it I’m going to post a video on the fb page and see what ppl say
