@@EverythingMoney Seems like a solid company. good revenue growth, expanding to international markets, pretty stable shares outstanding for the last 3-4 years, seems to trail its competitors in profit margin but very little to no debt. Still appears to be trading at a bit of a premium at this time....

@@EverythingMoney retyping because I thought I replied but don’t see it. Looks like a promising company. Absolutely silly returns in the past few years. Solid revenue growth, little to no change in shares outstanding last 4 years. Seems to trail its competitors in gross profit margin but it’s just getting started in markets outside of the US. It has almost no debt. But it does seem to be trading at a slight premium. Wanted to hear your thoughts on it. Thanks.

Morgan Spurlock's story reminds me of the Marlboro Man, and it doesn't exactly encourage me to eat at McDonald's.
Johnson and Johnson has some pending lawsuits that has kept it down for a while. The powder cancer etc
Any thoughts on GM? It is trading at 52 week high, but valuation still looks outstanding, especially compared to sector. P/E=5.6 Fwd P/E= 4.9. PEG= 0.48

I think there is a general trend against dividend stocks because so many are trading near lows while the mag 7 pay laughable to none. As the fed keeps rates high the income investors flock to the bond market instead.

The Dividend is Not paid out as a %. It is a Fixed Cash Payment which is converted to a variable % due to the change in Share Price... As Share Price Falls, the fixed Cash Payment is a higher % of Share Price...

The reason why CVS ROIC is really bad is because they acquired two businesses and overpaying for both which one is still not profitable. That ROIC will increase once they fully build out their own ecosystem connecting all businesses together which will hopefully increase margins. The reason why the stock is low is because of regulatory risks and higher medical costs

Price increases are resulting in reduced foot traffic at McDonald's and other fast food chains. Possibly a long term problem. Their menu is not as varied anymore.

Paul, I feel the majority of people don't recognize CVS as the monster, bohemoth company that it is. Does anyone here know that it is the WORLD'S 9th largest company by revenue? Their retail numbers are only a small part of the story with this company... The insurance and med aspects of CVS provide a powerful company mote.

Actually their growing health care segment has around 15% margins... As a whole currently they are around 2%, but when the business is thriving, historically they've had as high as 4% margins. Much better than something like Costco or even Amazon

I used to buy M coffee. Get on the subway. Walk through the city. Take the elevator up to the top floor. Stroll to my desk while talking up everyone. Sit down. Take a sip. And the coffee was still too hot to drink.
I just don’t think McDonald’s x5 a week is good.

Not investing in MickeyDs. Not healthy and people will move towards real food at some point. Then again, it is so addictive. Hmm. I do like the sausage egg mcmuffin even though processed meat is um..not good for ya. Addiction plays r good I guess. I do have some DPZ for that. TXRH is solid. You need a button to clear your screen vs the speed wiping. Great info and presentation though.

McDonald's is dying off in my area. They were once known as cheap and fast food. The dollar menu was the real deal. But all of that is gone. I haven't eaten there in years because if im paying alot of money for food, everything else is better than McDonald's

When you talk about paying a premium for companies, why don't you look at the historical charts of the company you are analyzing? I agree that it doesn't mean it's a massive reason that the future says much about newer businesses. Still, a company like McDonald's could be big enough, like Coca-Cola, and assume that these P/E's will remain. You often refer to Buffett and his purchase of Coce for 30x P/E.

Agreed, my portfolio is well-matched for every market season yielding 85% from early last year to date. I and my CFP are working on a 7 figure ballpark goal, tho this could take another year. IMO, financial advisors are the most sought-after professionals after doctors.

I can't stand the amount of debt CVS have so I would have to remove it from my Intrisic Value calculation. That would make Paul's Low, Middle and High $15.30, $79.15 and $163.94, respectively. For context, they have approximately $136.75/share in debt!!!

@EverythingMoney per usual tho good vid I do love the fundamentals it's the most important of companies but the moat we talk about is really important we pay up for. I just think McDonald's is under moat destruction because of pricing power issues. Just not a value anymore and the upper middle class is eating healthy take out
I refuse to buy McDonald’s because they got rid of all healthy items off their menu. I travel a lot for work and used to get their grilled chicken a lot for a quick lunch on the go. Purely principles as I am sure it helped their margins.
