Azumi-san, You offered a previous 5 minute talk about Ikigai, that is absolutely wonderful. I watched and was inspired to study more about the concept . Learning about the work and writings of Dr Kamiya became a revelation. I am so happy you give even more examples and explanation here, so that we can all share its simple honesty in finding joy and purpose. With your permission, I will leave this quote from Dr Kamiya that touched me deeply; “When we wake up from sleep, we are greeted by the morning. We did not create the morning; it somehow came to give us the chance to live another day. We wake up and discover the morning. The meaning of life is like the morning.” - Mieko Kamiya

Thank you so much for this. The concept of ikigai has always allured me, but the circle chart form always felt just a bit off so while I did my best to follow it I would start to eventually feel lost. This has helped me so much, I very much appreciate it.

Great to hear that! Thank you 💖
Great video. My ikigai is my beliefs especially Shinto and Zen Buddhism. Especially after my health crisis back in 2020 which involves with kidney failure and compartment syndrome. I don't think I need to elaborate about my condition. I believe I posted about it in another reply under another video. As always I love your videos. ❤ They are an inspiration 🙏

Such a powerful lesson…many thanks. I will watch again and again. Is it possible to have traits of both a man (which I am) and a woman as I feel I have both aspects in my life.

I discovered your channel awhile ago while searching for the meaning of ikigai kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZmSGudmmlbnFlLQ.html&pp There's a lot of misleading Western translations as to what it is. I always felt there was more missing and being misinterpreted; like you mentioned being in the hospital and unable to fulfill your duties. I like your interpretation: doing something one is passionate about and that creates *connectedness* to oneself, people, nature, and also sense of belonging and gratitude. One of my passions is travel photography; capturing nature and every day people. I found out my ikigai wasn't about taking photos but the feeling of being connected to people and places by sharing these memories through photographs. Thanks for sharing these timeless wisdom Azumi 🙇
