3 Simple Stoic Lessons For A Better Life
Stoicism and Stoic philosophy have been used for thousands of years and its practicality and value is still relevant in our modern world today.
This video covers an introduction to Stoicism and 3 core Stoic rules to get you started on the path to a life of flourishing (or what the Stoics called eudaimonia).

I wish I had been exposed to stoic philosophy in school. Might have kept me from wasting a big part of my life drowning in alcohol. 830 days sober today. Better late than never! Thx for the videos!

I understand it’s a lot I would have done differently in my life better late than never this old dog 🐩 is going to learn some new tricks Lol 😂 I’m so glad I found about this 👍😊
My 63 years of life experience caused me to come to many of the same conclusions as the Stoics long before I knew what one was. Thank you Pocket Philosopher.
I'm not stressed because I don't have total control. I'm tense because I feel like I have no control. I need to listen to this lesson again and again. It's liberating me from my own false beliefs.

These are my favorite type of lessons! This video was my introduction to Stoicism. I have along way to go with applying these lessons everyday, but it has really helped answer some questions I've had for many years and how I can deal with them. Finding happiness in life is freedom for my mental state. Thank you:)

being stoic is my new cup of coffee ;D
Stoicism reminds me of the advice my Grandpa use to teach me as a kid. The Old School Ways will always outweigh the New School way in terms of Honor, Loyalty, and Respect... Good Vibes Always!!!
I was sitting outside enjoying the beautiful weather &a ciggy;the thought crossed my mind that I'm a stoic person like it's a bad thing, somehow ending up here? Lol I could listen to this daily. I find it reassuring that I'm perfectly imperfect & comfortable being myself. My natural stoicism is an asset not a detriment.
People tend to complicate things leading to self-imposed suffering. Stoicism simplifies, it is a travel to enjoy.

I think it is important that you mention women as well as man , be kind and considerate, it is very important. Have a beautiful day:).
My young partner me this today, i've been through alot, to much to mention, leaving it all behind is better, life is hard right now but he makes it easier each day. I've lost my dad yrs ago, losing mum slowly, dont talk to family as they are toxic and look after myself and him is all that matters, dont have time for people who waste my time anymore is my philosophy now, to much wasted time on the wrong people who took up all of my time with their negativity and inability to manage their own life and thoughts, life's for living not enduring each day.

I am slowly, steadily learning to live according to Stoic ideas. But it is not easy to shift one's mindset after so many years of being much too kneejerk-reactive about things! Doubly difficult when one is as naturally argumentative as I tend to be. Still... I feel like I'm making progress.

Thank you also for providing the link to Buddhism, i obsrved that Stoicism has a lot of overlapping perspectives but found that Stoicism provides a very pragmatic / applicable set of principles to live in the real world where knocks and difficulties are experienced.

My best advice would be try to put more emphasis and thought on those things you do have control over in life that can bring you happiness. It becomes kind of like a balancing act, yes things outside of your control will make you unhappy from time to time but don't try to think about said events as much as the good things you might have going on, always try to look a the brighter side of things.
New to the channel, more content in stoicism pleeeeesase

More on the way
Most stress people can handle. It gets bad when your married, children, mortgage, house and your wife starts sleeping around. You know it's going to get difficult for the hard working man. He is going to have trouble sleeping knowing his loss of children will be hard.
Could you please tell us where you get the background music. This request has constantly been ignored on every video.
I feel freewill does not really exist, only some choices, one of which you can pick. That is how we are programmed.
