I use zipper bags to keep brushes moist. Put the brush in and zip it up to the handle. Sandwich bags work well.

I use now zip-lock bagsfor the brushes or if possible keep your rollers in the (half)full paint can. Other option is large glass jars to put roller in and fill up with paint.

That works. We occasionally will wrap roller covers in cling seal if we’re going to reuse later on the same job. If not then we just chuck them.

In canada they have a 3 foot handle that clamps onto your tray and also holds your stick vertically when not in use. you can grab the handle without bending down for the tray or kicking it across the room.

Another similar idea is to get a tray insert and use it upside down as a lid for your paint tray. Then just tape the seam.

We use the ol' upside down insert technique all the time on the job site while we're still working out of the pan. I've never tried taping the inserts together. That's not a bad idea. When we put our pans to bed for the evening we usually wrap them in a trash bag like I showed in the video. As long as you're preventing air from hitting the paint then its all good!

I have used cling wrap for brushes. Have also used sandwich bags for temp storage of brushes. I also often just use the plasic bags from my grocery store also. You do not wash your rollers ? You throw them away after one use ?

We don't wash out our roller covers. For my crew it's not time efficient to take the time to wash them out properly compared to how much a roller cover costs. We buy them by the case and it works well for us. I know some guys like to wash them out, that's just not our preference.

Not sure what type of paneling you’re referring to. If it’s wood paneling then you probably need to prime it with a wood primer then you can paint like you would a wall. Brush and roller and you should be good to go.

Good stuff, great tips!👍🏻 I’m trying to find one of your videos that’ll help me find the right 2.5 in brush for SW Emerald trim enamel! The stuff looks beautiful if the planets are in line but I’m struggling with it and have quite the brush collection already lol. Best I’ve found is a super soft short Wooster pro so far but it’s 2 inch, doesn’t hold much paint which slows me down too much ( which isn’t a good thing with that paint as I’m sure you know ), it does leave a nice smooth finish on narrow casing though if you can get through it quick enough. The soft Purdy syntax is pretty good and recommended by SW but it’s a little stiffer , really loads the paint up, and pushes it around a little too much for me ( maybe I need to work with it a little more?🤷🏻‍♂️) Wooster silver tip is no bueno for this paint…I saw one where you mentioned the Corona Cortez but I can’t find it locally and need to get through this project, I’m ready to just roll the closet jamb, door, and door jamb already 😅 I’ll get there eventually …. I hope lol🤦🏻‍♂️

The corona Cortes 2 1/2 is what I use everyday for emerald urethane. I experimented with a corona Vegas (is got soft champagne nylon bristles) and it produces an excellent finish, but it moves slower than the cortez.

@@SuperVassarBrothers I’m going to order one today, maybe the Vegas is better for me? There’s soooo many ( too many ) freakin brushes, It’s overwhelming! Is 100% nylon the way to go? Or nylon/polyester? Chinex? Lol Is there any other brush you would recommend? Thanks very much for the reply!

It’s a cost vs time thing for us. Rollers take a lot of time and water to wash out. We also don’t always have access to areas to wash things out. We get covers by the case and keep things moving.

Thanks for the feedback. Different crews use different methods. We like the deep paint trays for 9" rollers and a large green bucket from Wooster for the 14" rollers. Link below for 14". I like your videos however, I seem to detect a little leaning towards Sherwin-Williams, so I’m wondering if this is not a totally non-biased review. iTunes in to try to get reviews of Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore products however, if you’re a contractor and you get bigger discounts on Sherwin-Williams paints and you work with them on a regular basis well you know.

I talk about the products that I have a lot of experience with and I use mostly Benjamin Moore and Sherwin. I'm not sponsored by any companies currently, so my reviews are all based on my use of these products in my day to day work. Every review is biased because they're based on the reviewers preferences and experience. That's the nature of any review you see online.

Maybe for some folks depending on what type of work they do. For us, it’s more cost effective to buy in bulk, and throw away the rollers when we’re done with them. It would cost us more to take the time to wash them out than it would to replace them. I understand that might not be the case for some folks.
