OH! I have a question, I live in an area that is dominated by the Amish population, I’m not sure how much you know of the Amish and their beliefs but if a member of their community decides they want to pursue a different religion or lifestyle they are immediately shunned by their family, and the rest of the Amish community. So that being said would you consider the Amish community a cult? Sort of sounds like it, no?

Big time. I was in a cult and if you question anything you are instantly looked at as a problem. This especially happens if you question authority. They put their leaders on pedestals and they practical worship them. It is Idol worship to put anything above the Lord. In cults this form of Idolatry is very high.

@@ronellgerber777 Leaving in a rush, abandoning your role in a ministry, cutting off any fellowship and friendship you have with anyone there. It can also meaning bad mouthing the church and posioning others against the leadership and others in the church. In the case of leaving a cult or a church using cultish methods-i think you can just leave and you don't own anyone an explanation. If you feel you must address a church that has adopted some cultish ways then do so with 2 or more witness, but do not be suprised if you are attacked. If that happens it is not your fault, so you should leave that church. I feel when a church has has Authoritarian people in leadership roles you either get a cult or a cultish church. If God is for free will but your church leaders don't recognize it then that is a red flag. Church leaders are meant to guide you and equip you by teaching the word of God, not to control you.

I have since grown out of that movement because it is anti-Christ and NOT what Jesus taught. I know the verses you would probably use to justify this view since I used to have this view before I was saved but I can tell you that it brought nothing but death in my life. The new age movement allows for drugs and alcohol and partying and evangelizing is not necessary since they claim even bhudda and Mohammed and Krishna all had Christ consciousness which is a self refuting claim since they all taught different things.

All of these sound like what was happening at my old church. If you said the wrong thing or asked any questions...You were ether kicked out of the church completely or given a "Talking too" all that was, was them yelling at you with a Bible saying you were ether a demon or a witche. I already found another church and I'm not going back to that one.

They are telling you white is black then getting mad at you for questioning them and having a brain. Scripture in the ot says fornicators are to be stoned their judgement is on them but if you see a person today kill someone for being a fornicating sinner the real evil one is the killer not the “sinner fornicator” they have something to call everyone. There is a reason we look at the killer to be the one that is deranged and not the other way around and if we look at the killer as pure evil with those bible verses that makes god the same as that pure evil which an entity of good is just that. Good. It isnt capable of evil. They have warped the whole entire thing and blamed god for what THEY DID TO PEOPLE. Enjoy your life live with good morals be free from this and never deal with these kinds of sick people it will save you a lifetime of destruction literally.

As someone who got away from 2 cults, this is very true. Not sure if I got slandered, but I'm sure I did. I was never a long time member, I got involved and got out once I realized the deception, thank God for His protection and Holy Spirit. 🤗 Also I would like to add that another way to recognize a cult, I was involved in 2 "Christian" cults, one online, one in person. They will try to make you feel bad and guilty when you miss a sermon or bible study. They keep a lot of things hidden, like details that a regular church would tell you, but they will withhold information from you unless you "move up" in the ranks. Pay attention to the obvious, like the cult leader being called "Father" or "Dad" or any other weird name that makes them seem higher or holier. And they will only teach you half-truths, religiousness, and traditions, instead of relationship. And they will make you feel like there's some big secret information in the bible or whatever book they read, that only "they" know. Hope that helps or sets free anyone trapped in the witchcraft that operates in cults.

I've been saying all these three things for years. Now the people give up and some don't want to go back in the church.

Whoa, very glad I'm currently not experiencing this, thank you Lord. I pray for all the brothers and sisters out there who are dealing with this, that you help them, Lord, understand that they need to escape, and guide them through that. You are always faithful, and we love you forever more. In Jesus name, amen!

Same happened to me,when I raised concerns over members not behaving right in church,I became an enemy to all of them until I was pressured to cut ties and left church..

I had a best friend who started dating a guy that was involved with Scientology. They tried to set me up with one of his Scientology friends, I never engaged with them. Eventually, I cut ties with her, they all pretty much disappeared, and now she's married to him.

My religion is Spirituality which reside within my soul. No cult, no building. ❤❤

Yep! #3 is sooooo true. I used to attend a church that never had anything positive to say about the people who would leave until people I knew started leaving and there were false narratives as to why. They were slandered etc & the pastor would spew expletives about them behind their backs. There's no accountability there, they will attack you if you ask them why there's no Bible Study, instead, it's sermon or book study. A lot of the youth left because they were never given a clear answer when asked why they never studied the Bible. CRAAZY!

I was checking if it fits how schools in general are, then I have to agree. Its giving me cult vibes. They dont like disagreements, they tell you that you're a failure if you dont finish it. And they wont adjust their learning methods, despite it being outdated.

Your very carefully chosen and tailored words when involving your religion into the conversation shows clear signs of it being a cult. Most religions do all three of these things

This is what it was like when I was in AA, or this particular group. They were obsessively involved in every aspect of my life and only wanted me to do AA things and not outside things. They all stopped talking to me when I left the group and called me ungrateful. They also would tune me out when I would talk about missing Jesus and needing him back into my life.

This is so true they are so many cults online along with false prophets - I got demonized by a only church group because I’m physically disabled, to them it meant I am possessed and not a real Christian- I’m so happy I made the choice to leave immediately after 🙏🙏🙏

Dude, i joined a Pentecostal church a few months. Your description of what is a cult perfectly describes my church.

I have "former" family members who are a members of one particularly religious political party right now. That party is claiming Christianity, but the politicians in that party aren't following love or Christ's teachings. I detached from them, the negative thought processes are disconcerting. I went to a church and one of the leaders bullied me and made up lies about my family. I decided to leave and this year my church lost 8 people. The pastors wife told me she didn’t have time for me than when I told her I’m not going back to the church she said going back to”good, you didn’t really belong here there’s other churches with your age range”. She stood up for the person that bullied me and the church is angry at my dad planning secret meetings with everyone except him and they tell me “you shouldn’t be like your dad or just gossip about him to my face”.
