This is why I feel not changing jobs regularly is like not changing the oil in your car. By changing jobs consistently, not only will you stay motivated, you will make more money and expand your network.

I think you missed the point brother. There's changing your job regularly and changing jobs because you've been there for a certain amount of years.

I don’t know what with my job, i work as a receptionist, i’m 21 years old and i am so stressed out atm. we are very few people at the reception and that makes it even harder to stay motivated and focused on your tasks. the asks are so mundane and i feel like i’m always doing and trying to give my best but it’s not always enough. i’m just doing it bc i want to save money.. don’t know why else. i try to keep going but idk what to do!

Damn it do be like that for me, Im 22 and currently planning my exit strategy after I heard a coworker say she's been working there for 6 years with no increase in pay and we get treated like absolute dog crap. Worst of all there seems to be some racial issues as our white counter parts are rising up the ranks even tho we got in this job together we black workers are still at the floor

I’m sorry for what you’re going through. It’s not necessarily my personal fault for what happened to you, but I acknowledge racism plays a part in your life and I’m sorry for that. I am related to racist people and I’ve made racist comments before, but I am choosing to change that every day. I would say do your best and let God handle the rest! You have a purpose as long as you’re breathing!

Probably because the whites are actually tolerable. I work with two black guys, one is super chill but loud and the other is alright but racist and also loud. Both hound the bosslady at least once a week explaining why they deserve to be paid more than the rest of us doing the exact same job and they just started in June. Believe it or not the three races think and act different which is a scientific fact.

#4 They ask you to train one or more people in the different aspects of your job (or type a detailed series of steps of what you do), under the excuse that they will delegate some of your responsibilities to others in order to free you for “more important tasks” , yet, you have not received training for any.

I’ve had a steady job since freshman year in high school. I get paid really good. I have money saved up and I just kind of want to quit and take a little break before starting my career job. Do you think it would be wise to quit or do you think, I should just wait until my career starts to quit

I told my leadership I wanted to be a cashier instead of getting the carts in 90 degree weather. Than I applied to tell them . They said they will have me trained soon . This was two months in whole foods . I kept asking for months and no answer. And I know they didn't give me answers and say it's coming. Than I ask the person who does the train . She said it's up to the fronts end manager. Now I don't know if they were going to train me this month and I'm saying this I'm on surgery leave since I have to make sure I don't hurt my neck .

@@radreadsco I had to tolerate it because I sacrificed myself for family. But I waited patiently for the day to come. Then when I knew I could behave any way I wanted to, I waited for the authority to act up. When that moment came, I exploded! I acted like the most insane person you ever saw. I took my shirt off and screamed and flexed like Hulk Hogan. Funny thing, I didn't get fired that day. It was almost as if they wanted to see someone act more human. But then I just kept acting insane everyday after. Took about 3 months and I was showing up late everyday just begging to get fired.

@radreadsco Job searching rn. My job is so boring & mind numbing. I get paid good at over 23 an hour, but all I do is stand up 8 hours guarding a post. Only 30-minute breaks and 30 minutes of extra time at the end of my shift, which is also unpaid.
