I really like the voice overs. That adds a more relatable touch. TBH I thought about not watching this video not because I don’t like Wong fu , I really do as I’ve been a long time fan for 10 years but all the videos make me so emotional. That’s in fact, an excellent thing. Your videos hit their target. They make me think and sometimes cry and I definitely feel more than “nothing” ❤

can't believe Wong Fu needs to do the minis for the micro attention span of the current audience.

Nice touch with the girl wearing a red bow on her hair to reference the Red String Of Fate. And he too wearing a red shirt.

The couple in the chase were absolutely mesmerizing! Excited to see what these young creators make!

I haven't watched a WFP video in a long, long time. Mostly bc of inevitable outside forces. Got older, got a job, got rent to pay, still trying to find my place in the universe and all that. This felt magical to come back to, like the wonder and sense of internal humanity I grew up with WFP never left. I don't really have any plans to get married or find a partner, but I loved hanging out with my friends every chance I got. Thenafter, as I go home to my rather lonely studio apartment, I'm always dreading the possibility of breaking down into tears as soon as I'm back home, because of returning to the mundane loneliness that continues to culminate as you get older. I think both 'nothing' and 'the chase' are tied as my favorites of the three vids (although I really adored the first one), because those suddenly dead silent beats are exactly the moments I feared the most back then, and yet both captured this catharsis that I never realized I needed til then. the end of 'nothing' captures exactly the moment I would fear happening to me someday, becoming aloof or just unable to find that spark, if ever again; but it helps put into perspective that I'm not the only one feeling this. the end of 'the chase' gives me ease and solace that even if that spark is gone, however, I can still find peace and quiet in the things I have. Huge kudos to the team and cast for creating this beautiful shorts. We are so back, baby.

Maybe in another life I'd be able to relate to these Wong Fu videos. I'm Teochew from mother's side and Hakka from my dad's side, both parents born in Malaysia, me having been born in Canada 1990 till now. I guess maybe these videos might be for more socially privileged demographics of East-Asians from less rough origin stories. In my environment if one takes video's like this to heart, it'll get you eaten alive by one's social eco-system and the world. I love escapism/movie romance, but I don't know, seeing the characters played by relatively more "well off socially" East-Asians makes it feel so viscerally unrelatable. I guess I could take the video as fiction/escapism/a world to dive into rather than a bio short story, but the intent just doesn't feel that way. Peace, love, open-mindedness and intuition. And for the love of all creation, the universe and the ether please pay attention to the news and politics, how else are we supposed to make the proported "change" to make the world a better place?
