When we first got together he would send me cute messages all day long. I would always respond even though I was at work. Then all of a sudden he just stopped. I still sent things to him but he wouldn't even open them. After a couple weeks I stopped sending them. I even told him how much I appreciated his messages. They made my day. He just smirked and walked away. I didn't realize it at the time, I was dealing with a covert narcissist.

I’ve learned to accept the nice messages but not accept the person so easily. You have to separate the person from the message. Just because someone says nice things doesn’t mean they’re a nice person. It’s all about how they treat people.

Yup, and sometimes both of you are insecure and the relationship spectacularly implodes like what happened to me when I dated a friend I'd known for 4 years 😭 I had just started dating again after my marriage ended, and I didn't know that his last girlfriend had cheated on him... his friend told me only after I had already broken up with him. If I'd known I would have understood why he was keeping me at arms length and acting so weird and wouldn't have broken up with him. Hopefully he'll talk to me again some day

I will ALWAYS pursue a woman that I like. HOWEVER, if she has hurt me in some way or made me feel like there is another guy in her heart/mind, I will NOT pursue her the same way. I could TRULY still be into her, but I won’t pursue her or put the same effort once she has hurt me, disrespected me or shows any signs of still not being over another man or dealing with another guy in any capacity. I’ve had girls do those things and yet still expect me to pursue or “simp”. They act confused because maybe other guys would still pursue her under those circumstances, but not understanding that it’s probably because those guys just want sex, not a relationship. When a guy or girl just wants sex, a lot of them will lower their standards. When a guy wants a relationship with a girl, his standards for her are higher when compared to a girl that he only wants sex from. Girls are no different. When it’s based on LUST ONLY, you don’t really care too much. But when your heart is involved, you move differently. When it’s based on LUST, you ask questions like, what are you doing tonight? When your heart is involved, you ask questions like, how is your relationship with your father? But I can’t speak for all men. Just speaking from me personally.

I often feel like I’m reaching out and initiating more often than him. I know he cares about me. I think it’s a difference of personality and attachment types. We are also long distance which make it more challenging. Sometimes I feel like he doesn’t understand that I need him to reach out more and to initiate our time together. Ah mon frère je vis exactement la même chose avec un frère de l’église. Je vis dans une autre ville pas loin de la sienne et on se retrouve une fois par mois pour des réunions d’église dans sa ville. I tell him I love him and he says it’s lust, I reply I also lust for you. He acts like he loves me but can’t say it. I message him and compliment him. He calls me daily, there is a distance between us and he makes the drive when possible however, has never invited me to his place. It’s been 8 months of dating, I do feel in love. Does it matter if the woman is 6 yrs older than the man? We started out beautiful. He would call and we would talk for more than an hour. We have so much in common besides our birthdays are 3 days apart. Now, I’m the one that initiate communication. Calling, texting, and even though there is a slight age difference about 6 yrs apart, it really doesn’t matter to me. I feel maybe there might be someone else. also beware of boys who love it when you engage them and respond enthusiastically when all is good, even give you a few crumbs. and they mention big things like they are falling in love and a relationship, yet never act on them or try to progress the connection in any meaningful way. somehow they are always tired to do that first voice call but they still stay up late doing other things. you're never truly a priority so when you start distancing yourself as you do not want your time wasted and your feelings played with, then they come onto you all upset and having all of these demands that they themselves are unable to live up to and just expect you to carry the entire connection smh

well beware of narcissists who will express feelings towards you within a couple of weeks of chatting with you online and then expect you to feel the same when you're still getting to know them and no trust or healthy foundation has been established yet. however they say they love you and that you have them forever (you haven't even had a voice/video call yet). but they keep asking invasive questions about your feelings when you've already told them that you'd like to continue getting to know them and see where things go. but that's just not (soon) enough for the crazy person so they keeping on trying to break your boundaries. when that doesn't work they start taking offense at everything you say, saying that they are just emotionally sensitive and feel hurt by you. and from there on they feel justified in being verbally abusive towards you...

Omg 😢 I think I may have messed up my chances. He bought a Manson for me and us in another state to surprise me and only asked me for $5hundred to wrap up this home ,, and I was upset because he didn't even ask where I wanted to live. Plus I can not do stairs due to my health, and he didn't consider me for that. I set an alarm with sending morning and evening texts. He gets sensitive if he doesn’t hear from me

And sometimes they were motivated for the hunt but once they got you they return back to who they really are which is just getting by, both financially and emotionally. I'm not chasing someone that is mismatched. Your scenarios are not relatable to what I've encountered out here. Broke men stay broke because they don't care about the things that other men care about. I'm not mothering someone into getting enough money to take me out after being together for several years. My Honey got me diamond earring for Christmas. He gave me the gift box in the car while he was driving. I opened the box and in my excitement I didn't meet his expectation in enthusiasm. His comment was " you don't know how to accept a gift". I understand now that he wants excitment! Hugs kisses holding his hand and telling him emphatically how much I loved his gift he picked out for only me. I myself do not get overly excited about anything ever. I realized he needs that. He made the trip to the store search for the perfect gift. Knowing him he put thought into the pair of earrings he gave me. Not to mention he could have spent the money on another one of his 5 vacuums. That's an entirely different story. ☺ I do love him, but I feel I have not been showing him to the point he needs.

I did thr things you mentioned in point 2 to him last week...i sent that message saying i was thinking about him...he reacted positive....i sent the message saying i would love to see him....he planned the kind of "first date"...but this week....not communication after that date when we were supposed to meet one day of the week and is already friday...what do you say about that Stephen?...i do feel he is into me...i also have my fears and it costed me work to take that step but i dod because i know how shy he is...we were friends first.... So?

As a guy, I don't want to be his Valentine, but I am happy for him that he has that much appeal.

What about when you think about but afraid he girlfriend or wife don't like when another woman don't like you to compliment him
