Did the frunk leak at all in the water?

The 22s appeared to handle just as well as the 20s. Granted it's not extreme off-roading conditions. Curious for future performance comparisons between the 22s and 20s.

I am really dreaming of the performance of the F-150 lighting raptor or the name they want to use.

There are Allumunim & carbon fiber underbody stock. But there is a more heavy duty "off road " package for extreme off roading.

So wait ... this is the aliza before aliza? One hell of an upgrade to a nice feminine woman with no crazy hair. Back to our regularly scheduled programing. So I bought a lightning due to kyle and state of charge and no regrets so far but i have been catching up with content on the net on these to see what it can and cannot do and fond this video in actually semi hard off road situation. The real locker is super cool but it makes me wonder why did they not help out with a front one too? i guess they are saving that for an FX4 package. That said i would never go on anything hard core so this capabilty is more than enough for me. Loving my lariat so far except for the slow ass charging. They keep on saying it will get better. I am still waiting!

How did the 22s on the Rivian do compared to the 20s? From the video it seems like they had no trouble at all?

First and most important factor is Consumption of energy 20s are more efficient than 22s.. so yeah 22s might be looking cooler but they are heavy'er and also with the smaller side walls have the tendency to make a flat quiker.. beside all that 20s are also much more quieter while rolling on paved surfaces.. so yeah stock size might be ugly but have other different benefits.. worth mention about off-road wheels those also consume more energy but they are recommended by Rivian for off-road and are designed to get you out from all the rough terrains where the other tires might struggle depending on different conditions..

EV's are the future how these trucks work so hard

i think of the Rivian as the Apple of electric trucks its a niche market

Kyle, that is not a “hard core” trail. Not be a long shot. I would love to see a Rivian attempt the Rubicon Trail or some of the harder trails in Moab. But I doubt it would survive without body damage.

@@goldbond8884 Indeed. Hell’s Gate is impressively scared but it isn’t actually all that hard. You have to get it just right or really bad things can happen. But it’s hardly extreme in that pretty much any 4x4 can do it with a good driver/spotter. My point is that the trails that Kyle was doing were far far short of that.

@@goldbond8884 It wouldn’t be pretty. The underside of the R1T is mostly plastic which will get torn to shreds on the first big rock. (The extra cost underbody shield looks like carbon fiber and will be pretty tough but it covers only a small part of the area. And I’m not at all confident that it would survive the kind of big hit common on “hard core” trails.) My first outing with my R1T saw the plastic under the rocker panels ripped up pretty good on a rock that couldn’t have been more than a foot tall. (Yes, I was in “Highest” mode.) There are screw and bolt heads under there that are pretty vulnerable, too. Take a look at some videos of “King of the Hammers” or “Fordyce Cretk” if you want to see some truly hard core action.

And I will buy a fully loaded F150 Lightning Platinum anyway.

True, if Tesla was a startup. This is the first year Rivian is manufacturing a vehicle, so multiple hiccups are expected.

It's typical, air suspension is expensive and very prone to failure.

Ya like all those roadsters that are gear boxes, Tesla had 1 speed and 2 speed gearboxes in them and all failed and the early Model S that all the motors that had to be replaced due to major failures. Tesla batteries just out of 8 year warranty failing. Air compressor seems cheap compared to Tesla track record.

I hate the look of the Rivian but I love how it can take on rocky trails. Ford better take notes on its next years models EV truck because trucks are made for more than just pavement.

Lol…… not all trucks are made for off-road you realise that!? You that ford and other manufacturers also makes 2x4 trucks right! Even Toyota has 2x4 trucks

100% agree. I just dont like the head lights of the Rivian, but its unquestionably capable. I am hoping you can modify a Lightning into a DYI Raptor eventually.
