I’m not gonna BS myself. There a bunch of other places I could go to for resorts, beaches, excursions etc. When I go to Sosua I want to be with beautiful women period. I don’t like to pretend that I’m there to watch the water shop and eat. If you remove the chica aspect Sosua would be dead period let’s stop playin.

@@customerservicebusters4878 exactly. I been going to Sosua for several years and it’s funny to me that KZreadrs are really on here trying to convince people not to go for the women. There are way way better places to go in the Caribbean if you want just want beaches, resorts, and family friendly stuff. Sosua is definitely not the move if all you want a spot to take your wife and kids.

@@LowKeyDee1620 I am not sure why anyone would pick sosua area to live with a family. Of all the up scale cities on the island. Sosua tourist strip has drawn black men to go there, vacation there, retire there, for one reason. It ain't the sunshine, warm weather, the beach. It is for the chicas. You find this out when dudes been living there 3 or 4 years and cannot speak a lick of spanish, cannot take you to a dominican family home to visit, has not immersed in the culture.

Stop trying to make Sosua something different than what it is 🤦🏾 If Sosua is not your vibe go somewhere else.. there’s literally a thousand beautiful beaches within the Caribbean.. Even within the Dominican Republic.. GO THERE! Stop crying about what grown adults are doing with their time and money 🤷🏾‍♂️

I think you are fairly new to this area. Aprox. 90% of men come to sosua to party with chicks. There are plenty of other locations to go for the other stuff. To tell people not come for that reason is out of line on your part. However, it is nothing wrong with speaking on why you are there and what you like.

I agree. The many things sosua offer like the beach, food, restaurants & bars, spas, culture and just being able to relax and network and fellowship with new people is more important to me. The ladies are just a bonus.

On my way to Cartagena then a cruise in January I’m definitely coming back to SOSUA strictly for chicas. My first time in SOSUA all I remember was a ran down town.

Always remember Marines adapt and overcome !!! Now with that being said I am a former Marine And I love Puerto plata. Very rarely do I hang out in sosua. I love the vibe of puerto plata . From my favorite local restaurants to my cigar lounges. And of course the malecon with the beach. And to make things a little interesting they put a Pizza Hut and a McDonald's in Puerto plata. Your friend who was a marine would love both.

I've been coming to the Dominican Republic since December of 2019. I've been there 12 times Prior to the pandemic and other commitments I fly down 3 or 4 times a year..

9 out of 10 guys are coming for the ladies and that experience. If you want family style atmosphere go to a nearby resort. Rio went thru a similar transition or removing the sex aspect.

Bro I hate again to bring knowledge of years in the Dominican which disagrees with you which is fact. Brother it is the sosua strip from Casino, to ahnvee, to rumba to new garden to around the baseball field to the Casino back down to playa Alicia then to sosua beach to the end of the beach Charamicos. Now there are only 6 things to do: swim drink eat gym chicas walk Go outside of the strip it becomes the real sosua/dr: cieniga, sosua, sosua abajo, maranatha, castillo, la union. montellano, cangrejo. These are not places gringos go unless they know someone and speak some good spanish. When you say go to neighborhoods you tell me what neighborhoods you speaking. The regular tourist is not hanging outside of the sosua strip. Only a few! Sosua strip is what it is. Your friend, it is not for him. Dominican has been for me because I love the culture, learned good spanish over the years that aloud me to interact in the Domincan period from Santiago to San Juan. I wish you men would stop saying sosua. It is sosua tourist strip. When I return I hope you and I can meet. If you are not there to party and women, then your friend needs to go to Puerto Plata resort Hacienda Lifestyle!!!!!
