3 Reasons Why You Should GO to Church...

With all the online streaming abilities these days, what's the whole point of going to church in person? After all, theoretically, one could do all the same things: read, study, hear a sermon, worship. Why not attend virtually? The scriptures are very clear that the continued fellowship of believers is a crucial part of every Christian's life. It helps us check ourselves if we're falling into sin or false doctrine. By attending in person, others can help you and vice versa. Attending church in person is actually very important to spiritual growth. So in this video, we will explore three very important reasons why Christians should attend church.

I don't really go to church for a few reasons. a lot of churches nowadays seem to be corrupted or teach false things, I am shy and introverted and don't find much joy in talking to people outside of my family or circle of friends, and also my parents don't go to church anymore for similar reasons. we love and serve God to the best we can but we just cant seem to find a church that is normal and truthful and is not judgemental

@@a-a-rondavis9438 It's more than coincidental that I'm reading your comment today; just this afternoon, a street preacher (KZreadr) wrote me that he's part of a church group that meets in people's homes. I rather like the idea of a house church and will try to find one. (I suspect that they're scarce in my well-populated area. By me, it seems that people rely on organizational church bodies; like organizational churches in reidp646's area, those by me tend to be more progressive or, at least, more secularized when it comes to certain things.) I'm not sure that I have it in me to start a home church; I, at least, will perform a diligent search for an existing one and see what I find. (Living in a highly populated area can be akin to living in a desert; it's hard to find both non-"progressive" churches and house churches.)

I haven't been to church in years, but I kinda feel the same way. Young adults or early 20 somethings that go to church are usually goofballs or just simply don't know enough about their faith to produce a worthwhile conversation, and I don't have time to waste on people that don't interest me. I just have such a unique set of personality traits that make it difficult to be very sociable. Had social circles and friends/acquaintances across different groups of people in high school despite being an introvert, but the adult world is different. I have such a low social battery in the first place, and that means getting annoyed easily at people that don't click with me. I still don't feel a real pull to go to my local church that we've been to off and on for many years.

I have this same issue but I learned recently in a Tony Evans sermon that if you want something then give something to get it back in return. This means putting effort into connecting to someone in the church with the same issue as you in hopes that God sees your service to provide you a support system you can engage with. I've made it my mission to seek to serve others rather than have others serve my needs. I hope this helps and encourages you all. God bless!

I get how you feel. My advice: stop focusing on groups. Start small. Look for people at church who are alone or single. Try to connect with them. Maybe ask them to go to lunch after church or organize a night out for the singles at church. Another great way to get to know people is through serving. Look for a ministry you're interested in, like greeting people, the nursery, the audio dept. That helped me to get to know people as well. Give it some time and pray to the Lord for guidance. Maybe He has you at that church for a specific reason. If not, ask Him to guide you to the right church. Whatever you do, don't give up un church. Just find the right one.

Know that evil/ugly people are God's people too, by essence of them believing that Christ will forgive them. It is your choice to simply make the observation that you see some of God's most beautiful people in church. However much that statement is attractive to you, is probably how judgemental you would be to God's people that aren't beautiful.

My question to that church and to your thought (which was likely ingrained by your church) is as to why socializing is an expectation placed upon an anti-social person as opposed to the guys who like socializing? Why are those socializing not reaching out more to those that are not connected or simply don't enjoy socializing? I ask this because in my time visiting different churches, I was either the one that was antisocial or I was the only one reaching out to those that "don't fit in". I don't think the church would recognize or accept Jesus when He comes back. I think they would reject a Christ who would forgive even the worst sinners (these "Christians" don't want the worst of sinners to be forgiven). Let us be different, always remembering the how endless the mercy of our Father was demonstrated to be when He sent Jesus to die for us.

@@thekid6244 Catholicism has DEEP roots in demonic worship. On the contrary, I don't consider myself "Protestant". The whole basis behind "confession", needing to talk about your sin and business to another man who can't do anything for you, and they justify their "absolving of sins" complex by a verse in the Bible where Jesus was talking to the disciples. Only Jesus Christ needs to hear about your problems and humble yourself so you can give those to Him, and Jesus is the only One to absolve you of your sins, not man. The Catholics' reverence for Mary is disgusting and it's idol worship. The churches have statues, idols, and images of gods and people that you are told to worship. The priests are the ones to interpret the Bible, not the actual followers. Just like Mormonism, which is also highly demonic. The fact that you have to "be perfect" and "not sin" so that you can work your way to Heaven is legalism and religion. It's demonic. We are saved by grace, not works. I can keep going about how Catholicism is in the pocket of Satan himself, and I will only follow Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, not a church, and not a human.

@@thekid6244well for starters Catholics removed the real second commandment (don’t worship graven/carved images) and split the tenth in half, they GENUINELY believe the bread and wine of communion are His real body (therefore bringing Him back to the cross when He died once and for all), the pope prays to Mary (as do many), they idolize communion and baptism (while both are incredibly important, you don’t baptize babies because it’s a personal decision to signify being born again), most aren’t born again when Jesus said you HAVE to be born again, a lot of them (and actual Christians) have pictures of the European Jesus (that is incorrect, He was probably brown skin with brown eyes), among other things. It’s unbiblical, denominations don’t matter, just follow the Bible, be born again, get baptized, follow Jesus, repent. That’s it

So I will come earlier than everyone to prepare and go later than everyone when I'm cleaning up. There was simply no time to connect with anyone for the duration of the service. After over the years, I felt even more disconnected from god and people of church. I'm am doing my best to connect with people outside of church and worship god by myself. Currently I'm thinking do I still need to go to church when most of the connection and worship is done outside service?

I take it that you attend a church with a congregationalist style church government? In Presbyterian, Lutheran, Anglican, and other high-church denominations don't have that. There's usually either a council of elders or a hierarchy of bishops who make decisions for the church.

Ikr i don’t know what their deal..h that’s easy for the authors of the Bible to Say back then i mean how many denominations and different belief systems and churches and all of that was there to confuse you or mislead you. That’s not very applicable now and it’s a lot more too , the Bible is now complete when that was written the the was not completed and I doubt anyone had any trouble following the law ..plus the law was in their native language so misunderstanding should be rare or easy to solve and the list goes on…then ain’t now

Then don't go, maybe tune in online in the meantime, and when eventually you can practically go, do! In the time of the New Testament people just met up with their Christian neighbors in homes, so transportation wasn't an issue-the passage they quote shouldn't be treated as some ironclad, universal Command passed down from On High, but rather good, important advice from the Holy Spirit, specifically intended for the recipients of Hebrews, but more often than not applicable to today as well. (And even back then I doubt the author of Hebrews meant that people should go to church even if they're super sick or something.)

@@AllenGrimm1145 also these days you have to be careful what church you go to since some churches are 501c3 and are told by the government what to do some are easy to spot as they support wokeness and BLM and LGBTP

@@holystars I think you've got some facts wrong. There are a number of requirements for a church to qualify as 501(c)(3), but what's preached there simply isn't one of them. Even the *Westboro Baptist Church* is 501(c)(3)! And for the record, I pretty sure it's possible for Christians to genuinely support BLM and "wokeness"… even if they happen to be wrong about that, I don't see how that goes against the Bible at all. Not every controversy is a religious one.
