It’s amazing the things you’re bring to light brother! There’s so many different quarterbacks that have slight differences in they’re game. The great ones get away from their fundamentals because of their great talents. Even more of the reason why we should be in awe of them. Great work brother from another coach! Love the IQ you’re teaching the youth. Aloooohaaa🤙🏽

Just watched a hand full of your videos great job! My son is a Rt-handed QB having trouble throwing to his right. And sometimes he ends up pushing the back of the ball showing his palm to me witch causes the ball to duck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Would try to get him to get more weight onto his back leg at the last step of his drop- here is why. Usually when guys push the ball it’s because they have too much weight on their front leg/front side of their body. It causes them to not get hip rotation on the ball because essentially all of their weight is already transferred to the front leg. So they can’t rotate their shoulders back or drive with their back leg because they do not have enough “weight back”. Try to get him to pause at the last step of his drop- get 70% of his weight on his back leg- his back knee should be straight and back foot under his back shoulder. Then have him drive while closing his front shoulder on foot strike. This will hopefully get his hips to rotate more and his shoulders don’t need to swing open which causes the palm facing throws. Hope this makes sense

Quick question, when I throw, my arm doesn't bend back at the elbow nearly as much as that Burrow clip (or other clips I've seen) is that something to work on?

So coach it's fine to not a direct 90? Because my arm bends a little in more than a 90 and I didn't know if that will make my throws inconsistent. Also should I move my hips forward and make my back and shoulders chase it? I'm asking because I don't know if that will make me lean and loose my balance.

Yes totally fine and yes- the sequence of your throw should be front stride getting down, then hip rotation. Then shoulder rotation and the ball chases behind

Hey coach, I’m trying to be a high-school quarterback in sophomore year and i’ve been trying to accurately throw the ball but sometimes when i try and focus on who i’m throwing to it ends up going to the left side of the persons shoulder or a little on the bottom sometimes. Any corrections or tips I should be focusing on. 👍🏾

You are probably over rotating with your front side- but it’s hard for me to tell without seeing you throw. I would suggest when you throw try to keep your shoulders parallel to the target at the release and really focus on snapping your wrist at the target. I think this can help

I’ve noticed I don’t use the term backstroke with my guys. Roll the hips through (weight transfer from back to front leg,) is what I say. I believe if you bring most of your weight to the back leg when you plant your back foot, the ball naturally comes back.

  • @firstdowntraining

I agree with that, I think guys who have rocky motions don’t usually get their weight back. It is all correlated
