3 Options for your FIRST Metal Lathe
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
If you're anything like me, you WANTED a metal lathe way before you actually NEEDED a metal lathe. I can't lie, it's a GREAT tool to have around for a lot of different reasons. Personally, I feel like every shop would benefit from having a metal lathe, even if it's a smaller "mini lathe."
In this video I cover three different options that would be a great fit for someone in the market for their very first metal lathe. As I mention in the video, any lathe is better than no lathe.

I just found a bigger one with more accessories for $1000 that I might go look at next week. It even has a taper attachment!

@LucidAutowerks I'm jealous. There's a few near me in rougher shape with no quick change gearbox for feed. Might be a project lathe and build it back up, or bite the bullet and get the restored one.
I’m trying to start a mobile wheel repair buisness, would a bench top lathe be best for cutting beads 15-20in wheels

I'd look for a wheel specific lathe. Just chucking up a wheel that size would require a really big lathe but then you have to be able swing the tool around the lip to do any cutting. Normally lathes that can chuck up large pieces like that are also really long. What is done when cutting beads? Are you doing repairs to the part where the tire seats against the lip of the wheel?
