3 new lion cubs together with their family - Zoo Antwerpen (B) - zoovenirs (28)
On 29 August 2022, lioness Tasa gave birth to 3 new cubs. That same day, lion Nestor, father of these cubs and the 3 youngsters of last year, got a treat for his 10th birthday. He himself was also born at Zoo Antwerpen.
During the first weeks, the new cubs stayed inside with their mother. They soon could be spotted in their own secure outdoor enclosure. Later on, the cubs and mama Tasa were allowed in the big enclosure. And on 7 November the whole lion family was reunited. Mama Tasa was still protective! But the next day, it went all rather relaxed, as you can see in the clips that l recorded that day. Older siblings Whisker, Waka and Winta enjoy playing with the cubs already.
2022 is the year of the X to name newborn animals. The boy lion cub is called Xesar, his 2 sisters Xabi and Xira. The public could vote for their favourite names on Instagram and Facebook.

Indeed she is! Fortunately, she has accepted the interactions with the older brother and sisters really well and also fast after the first meeting. Everyone was rather surprised about it after seeing the protective attacks the day before. As you could see in the video, particularly big brother Whisker is so gentle with the little ones. I have a chuckle whenever the big brother and sisters are putting their paw on the cubs' heads, like com'on... l want some action here. 😉😄😻 Just like our kitties do too. Yeah, l was and am totally surprised by it! Most come from tapping on suggestions provided by YT, according to the video analytics. Thanks and thanks, again! I was equally surprised by the notification from YT studio about the 100 subscribers. Hadn't followed it up lately. The lion cubs are really popular, judging by the number of people that were taking photos and filming there, when l was also there. Regular fans, who apparently follow them up day by day. It was obvious some of them knew each other, as they were sharing their footage from the day before, when the lion cubs and mama Tasa were all together with the rest of the family for the first time. I knew that by the IG post from Zoo Antwerpen and decided to go see for myself that next day. Thank you for your comment, Traci! 💙👍
