    yeah this is great - i had not thought about how to go about a square style bottle in this way that was good to see your approach and then optimising things with remesh tool which i have never yet tried!

    When you put the square where the cap should be you just mumble -minus?- and then it all does some magic, can you explain that a little more? Because when I put a boolean on it basically has the cube stuck to the bottle.

  • @ChippWalters

    @ChippWalters

    The cube is just there too Boolean subtract off of the top of the bottle. Just use a Boolean difference modifier and it will work.

    If you examine the model it's not topologically sound and will render with artifacts. Remeshing it solves those issues.

    Cool tutorial, but would be way more helpful if you explain WHY you're doing stuff. Like WHY you set the mean crease to 1 or WHY make the bevel "Weight" or WHY you add a weld. Just adding them teaches nothing if I want to use these tools in my own workflow.

    "Ctrl R, then just move it up to the top". Total beginner like me "Ctrl R, oh hey it's not moving up to the top therefore this tutorial cannot be completed". Can you please pretty please install that software that show's which keys you are pressing please please pretty please? If that were installed a total noob like me could follow along. Appreciate it non the less and please just take this as a request not a rant.

    CTRL+R creates an edge loop when in local mode. Sorry about the keystrokes, but my videos have well over 300 edits/10min and the keystroke indicator often gets cut out-- thus creating even more confusion. I might suggest you start with one of the many outstanding beginner Tutorial series. Grant Aboitt has super free tutes here on YT.
