To everyone complaining about this “not being Mexican cuisine”, the title clearly says Mexican Inspired so....it doesn’t have to be exactly like your abuela or mom made it. Most of these dishes are made with untraditional ingredients but I will bet everything is delicious.

The problem is that this is Texmex inspired, not even close to Mexican cuisine even on the inspired side. It's like saying "Greek inspired" and you get inspired by Italian food but put some Greek yogurt in one of the dishes.

Yeah, I mean, if it's a taco, my expectation is that I get a soft tortilla. Hard tortillas means it's a tostada or maybe a chalupa. Big difference, changes the dynamic of the food in my opinion.

Im am mexican... and I approve all of these, brave and interesting mixing japanese and mexican. pro tip, spray your tortilla chips with a mixture of lime and water, then springle some salt on top. beware not burning the dried chipotle, its burns easy and bitters, you can rehydrate it in a little water and then add them to the soup with your cans. thank you ramsay for showcasing our cuisine.

“With Spain being the most heavily represented.” Nice whitewashing there. Mexican food is mostly native based, not Spanish based. Mexican cuisine depends on three core staples: corn, beans, and chiles. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Tacos is also really popular in Sweden. About 85% of Swedes eat tacos regularly and 55% choose to do so on Fridays.

Zeroistaken yo no soy mexicana y la verdad es que a mi me importa un comino la fiesta de 5 de Mayo o de Octoberfest pero es bn una excusa para tomar unas margaritas y comer algo mexicano aunque sea un taco americanizados que son los que a mi me gustan. Mexican should be grateful that Americans celebrate 5 de Mayo even though it is not celebrated in Mexico. It does not matter what day it is. I live in Miami and will be celebrating 5 de Mayo just to have fun listening to the mariachis and I will be making tacos for my guests . But using the easy and quick way buying everything almost ready like the shells, tortillas, canned refried beans, canned corn. Etc . I really do not like to eats tacos prepared in Mexico because they use different flour to prepare tortillas. Those tortilla have an strange taste. I eat only what is inside the taco. I am sure that there is not one Mexicans who celebrate any American festive or patriotic event.

Mexican cuisine is a mishmash off lots of countries. Love ther crazy drinks they have. Booze with lots of jellies and other stuff. Crazy and inventive as always.

That miso based marinade sounds like it would taste amazing.... never thought I would hear about Japanese/Mexican fusion tacos but definitely giving it a try later (albeit with chicken instead of steaK)

the beauty about Mexican food is that there is no exact or right way to cook a Mexican dish, it's pretty much open to interpretation. every house hold, every pueblo, every state and city has its own way of interpreting the dish. Gordon just nailed on this one, authentic beautiful dish 🇲🇽
