Q: Is there a work-around for forcing Windows 11 to reinstall over a Win 11 "boot failure" installation? That is: using a modified bootable USB installation drive to boot the system, and then force "Upgrade Install" (saving all files & installed apps) the non-bootable boot drive. Which is not currently possible. Normally, the only options: either (1) upgrade install while already booted from the target drive, or (2) "Clean install" and delete all existing files & apps on the target drive. Some prior versions of Windows did allow for this. Note: have already tried various "BCD Edit" repairs from a DOS prompt. Thanks.

Hi; thanks so much! I did the step with appraiseres.dll... but Media Creation Tool still show a warning about that I will not receive updates... Will my PC receive updates or not?

Hi Daniel - I think Microsoft may have changed something since you did this video. I've tried both the registry edit and the appraiserres.dll methods and after "Checking your PC" it stops and tells me that it's not sure that my PC is able to run Win 11 and directs me to try again. My laptop is old, sure. But it's a Dell XPS with an i7 (unsupported) CPU. I think I'm back at ground zero 😞

Careful guys, no internet connection, no wifi (sometime the users set in the check box for automatically on for wifi if no cable internet connection) and most important to set no updates before (this will be done after installation). If you forgot these and updates already start it can not work and need again the entire process from beginning with also another rufus type installation. Advice, do not use their software to check compatibility this will record recognized information's in some files to can not proceed the process if you have not all the need requirements...

How long it takes on "working on updates" Im currently trying the last method and it worked And im currently in "Working on updates 24%" for atleast 20 to 30mins and the percentage 1% at a time? Is this usually takes long time?

you are not clear on the regedit if you open regedit up it is the file on your win10 pc how would you do the install image regedit? what your doing is great i really appreciate it just want to be sure..

Hello. I tried using rufus but when it reached the update screen at 21% the computer turn off so i turned it on and now it says undoing changes made to computer. I t it spoilt or can I fix it. Even if I lose my data.

Rufus did not work when i downloaded from the site. Some message about not being able to access the USB, but when I used the version provided in tools, it worked perfect. Question: can i use the Usb i created using Rufus for other laptop upgrades, or do i have to install rufus and create a unique USB for each laptop I want to upgrade? I was able to install on my virtual machine with Parallels using this method.

Ok, I've got this PC to prepare material for training related to Dynamics 365 and Power Platform in my channel I'm getting ISTQB training material ready as well and being a MAC user it makes sense to use Windows instead for the purposes of the demos, training etc. I bout this Dell, second hand, but I wanted to show some nice new features from power apps such as Power Automate, and Power BI as well, and Win11 looks awesome (it takes a lot from a MAC user to say that openly, lol - I did try to upgrade the Win10 version I have installed as dual-boot in my MacBookPro but no joy at all - If you can do the similar setup in Mac, your videos will get a lot of viewers as I doubt there are someone else there who knows how to do that, at the moment I write this here). So, this is what happened. I've skipped the first option (Rufus) and tried the second a few times. The Dell Optiplex 3010 doesn't even have a TPM 1.2 at all. I did do the UEFI change ok. I still could not use the second method, then moved on to the third option and it did work from the first attempt. Thank you. You've just helped me save hundreds of £££. No need to upgrade to a newer desktop, at least, not just yet. It is a decent machine, with i7 + 16Gb + 2.2 Gb HD, it would be a waste having to lose that just to get the new Win11. Thanks a bunch.

Hey Daniel Thanks for Info. I did for my 3y old lap i5 7200u which had cpu not supported. NOTE: disconnected my Internet while installation. I did win11 home single lang with rufus method and went smooth And I see good performance as well. Also I’m able to get my updates for win11. Let’s see for future updates after a couple of weeks. Specs: 8Gb Ram. 2.7Ghz 7200u i5 cpu 500gb ssd Samsung evo 860 for OS and secondary in dvd bay 1tb hdd. You gained a subscriber!!! Cheers.

I tried pasting windows 10 tools into sources but it says no more space how do I add more storage or free space?

Tried the third method and it is not working On Win 10 Pro, Intel xeon e5 - 2665. Error code is [0x7E]

It failed for me I cant copy the apprai and paste in the SOURCE. It says access denied

when I paste dll file it says ' there is not enough space on cccoma_x64fre-us_dv9. you need additional 192kb to copy this file ' I can't delete or paste anything regedit method isn't working {only CPU error is fixed} pls help😭

Dont mount the .iso. Unzip it and use it like that

Hi again, Thanks for the video Daniel !!!! just to inform here through this channel. i'm satisfied with this process of installation and i'm receiving constant updates from microsoft just got below update as well 2022-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 for x64-based Systems (KB5014019) as on 25/5/2022. my system feel fast for browsing, opening apps & rest all except the right clicks & refresh desktop a little milliseconds latency. Mine was clean install genuine windows 10Home edition & i've upgraded so stuck with win 11 home not the pro so loosing some pro features like Remote desktop i usually do. but that's fine i can use thirdparty software.

Hello - trying to use Rufus (ver 3.20) but I do not get the choices you get in the video under "Image option". The only choices I see are "Standard Windows Installation" and "Windows to Go". I do not see anything about TPM and secure boot. Any ideas? Cheers!

I downloaded ver 3.18 of Rufus and was able to create the USB with TPM off and no secure boot. However, the Windows 11 install *still* fails with "Sorry, We’re Having Trouble Determining If Your PC can Run Windows 11" 😞

First I say a big thank you to you for uploading this video, the first method I tried with "Rufus download" worked for me. W11 is really beautiful. OBSERVATION: Though I love the new outlook, my system (8GB RAM, 1TB storage, intel i7) is now very significantly slower that before. Wish I knew what to do to make it faster now so I can still enjoy this W11 upgrade. WARNING: Please do not be inpatient while doing this upgrade, you have to exercise patience to allow the system complete all the downloads, the installation, the starting and restarting as well as many updates as the system wants to go through. I spent almost two days from installation of W11 to completing the series of updates that followed. I had to keep the system on all night starting and restarting, and on the following day from morning till evening with a number of security updates either refusing to download or refusing to install untill after several attempts, but the joy is that everything is now up to date. I will come back to update this review if there's improvement and I'm able to continually get updates.

Hi again I installed windows 11 , I liked it but my PC become super slow I found the problem It's the disk Somehow after installing windows 11, my disk usage was always 100%, and average response time was way too high And that made apps loading too long and the windows search wasn't working I'm going back to 10, Hope they fix that issue someday

Update: Exactly as I thought... Just use the official or Rufus method Don't use the appraiser dll I installed win 11 and it was sooooooo slow it was weird I reinstalled win11 with the official method And now it's working Without any problem And I'm keeping it

im kinda mad at you it still didnt work it goes to 20 percent then says the instalation didn't suceed. and it closes. tried the third one and the secound one and neither of them work

I don't know why, but i am unable to replace the app...dll file it says there is no storage in the drive. I also tried other method in which we remain the file as AllowTheUpdate.. It also didn't work. The pc health check up, continously shows problem in my cpu

@@ahmadwael6601 while installing the windows 11 do not connect to internet and after the installation you can update windows 11 through windows update in settings . Till now I don't have any issues with windows updates. I got all the latest cumulative updates for windows 11 (2022-07)

Wired situation , change the port of monitor , if you have 2 DVI ports on your Graphic card than switch the cable to another one ! Also try to unplug the power from your pc and let it for 5 minutes , try to put the power plug again and try to open up the PC, if the PC will open than , try to update the GPU drivers! If still stay black , than remove the power plug again , open up the case your PC , remove All rams and connect it again ! Let me know

if I install using appraiserres.dll can it be possible to get future windows 11 updates without any issue

We couldn't install Windows 11 We've set your PC back to the way it was right before you started installing Windows 11. 0xC1900101 - 0x30018 The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT with error during SYSPREP_SPECIALISE operation. It's happened when I install W11 with replaced dll file. Two other methods no working as well. Failed or on Rufus denied.

My laptop support tpm 2.0 and secure boot too but not cpu i7 7th gen
