3 Lesser-Known Hills next to Vysoká in Little Carpathians, SK [Kuchynský hrad - Zámok - Snežný vrch]
The trail to the Vysoká hill is widely trodden, but you will hardly meet anyone at the nearby Castle of Kuchyňa 0:52. Meanwhile, it is a place with an interesting history and a unique genius loci. Old twisted oaks cover the entire hillside, its picturesque, deep green moss-wrapped lines cover the ancient castle ramparts. Along the side ridge 2:23 a path heads to the yellow marked trail at the second charming location in the vicinity - Zámok 3:32. It delighted us not only with views of the Záhorská lowland and the Carpathians, but also with a strange, wind-resistant birch grove just below the summit meadow. After the descent, you can return a short distance from here along the forest road 4:24 and enjoy the panorama 2:51 of the more northerly part of the Little Carpathians with Vápenná. Next, the path 4:35 leads through the forest until it crosses the blue sign to Vysoká. It continues to Snežný vrch 4:59, again with nice views, of which the one towards Vysoká 5:35 is especially noteworthy. On the way back, the fit ones of us can still have an additional trip to Vysoká. For us, however, this less frequented, but at least fresh, ~9km circuit was enough this time.
The ascent to the Castle of Kuchyňa and the top of the Zámok hill was quite steep with loosening pebbles, so take shoes with non-slip soles.

Vďaka za výstižný komentár, v Karpatoch je tieto staré stromy často vidieť, dodávajú im takú niekedy až mystickú atmosféru. Väčšina klouzaček v Malých Karpatoch je momentálne už roztopená, tak snáď nám ešte do jari prituhne a najlepšie aj nasneží. Pekný víkend želáme 🙂
