I've had RPO screens result in wide open untouched TDs when I'm in tight press man coverage. I thought that was impossible. Flat routes are the only time I've ever stopped it but only like 10% of the time does that work for me.

my epiphany last night while playing was press zone shade outside and overtop. im a terrible user but it really locked sht up really well Ive never shutout anyone and was sorta confused. i was gashed at inside runs but it was manageable for me. finally cut off the majority of these slants and out routes, it leaves the drags to an extent. I even shutout the AI as well, maybe i got lucky. These fumbles though....

That is a fact it does work to stop the run that bear. I started using it a couple days ago it's a real game changer

I see where people get so committed to certain plays and strategies. Its these tip vids. I personally beat that 3 4 bear strategy. You leave your self open to big plays from speedy receivers and any team with good guards can beat the run. But great vid

Here’s my best tip, run 3-4 odd and any base cover 3 flipped, spread d line, pinch lb’s, blitz all lbs, press, put corners in quarter deep zones, user the free safety. Once you’re opponent starts running spread formations this is when you run stock blitzes out of big nickel and play more conservative.

What attributes must ur d-line or linebackers have to be able to get edge threat

When you shade down to cover underneath it opens the middle of the field wide open

Played a guy who kept running stretch. You know the guys. The cheezers. Only run like te attack and stretch and what not. Anyway, switched my safteys and CBs in the depth chart. Now I got better run stoppers on the outside. Started just wrecking him on those plays. And my CBs worked fine as safteys, he wasnt running up the middle. Try it out its pretty nice.

There's a play in the browns play book that spreads out the oline wonder if this works for that

Also, for people using the Giants playbook use Cover 4 Quarters for stopping the stretch runs out of a pass defense look for people that like to play action you a lot. Spread, then base align and leave your LBs in the pink zones unless you're worried about drags or something. User the inside linebacker who isn't blitzing.

I struggle with running to the ball carrier without running into some linemen blocking each other and then I trip or just get stuck in there. Also trying to make tackles on someone with some good open field. I always get juked, I’ve been thinking I should try and strafe when I get close but I’ve tried it before and always got blown by when I try to strafe they just go straight and I’ll whiff the hit stick.. trying to get a good hit stick seems difficult with all the animations cause even tho you hit it at the perfect time, he’s already started in some animation.

Epidemic - illen spree the talking is definitely tough but it’s mostly skill based so I don’t mind it. But I agree that you get stuck on lineman and fall down it’s stupid because the ballcarrier cannot do that but the defense can. I wouldn’t care about falling when I run into people sometimes because your obviously not supposed to do that but the ballcarrier should be able to trip too

Just strafe and try to shade them to the outside and then spam X or A. It works for me Bc they either juke into you and it’s an easy tackle or they step out of bounds. In the middle of the field you’re screwed if you miss with the first guy tbh

You just gotta be fast with it. As soon as you snap it the ball should be passed. Doing that alleviated most of the penalties on RPOS for me

Soft squats are only useful when you’re playing Cover 3 or 4 and you have 3rd and 10+ and want your guys on the edge to keep basically everything in front of them. It’s the opposite of hard flats. Route names can get confusing. But remembering a flat route is easy because if you draw it, it’s flat. It’s the area from the line of scrimmage to about 3 yards out. Cloud defense is where you kind of float in between the line to gain and that point. So like medium routes in between there, where the receiver runs about 5 or so yards and then cuts Out toward the sideline or inside at a Corner.

Madden 19 too.. except you don’t even have to hold L1/LB now... if you do a run play, all you need to snap the ball and don’t touch anything and your RB will run on his own and does quite well sometimes. Same with manning a LB or CB or basically anyone on defence will just auto play the play if you don’t press anything. So fuckin dumb and bum friendly.

Maybe it's just the copy I bought, but I can't get through a single game without some kind of horrible glitch

You basically have to user the middle and hope and pray your corner actually cover the corner routes I like to always go to the corner and then soon as I see a drag immediately go to jump it because they corner should be to close to the sideline bit I still get brunt sometimes

You gotta watch the formation called at the bottom left. Count the WR and the RB. That shade down is for the short throws to gain a few yards not the long haul.

That actually makes it easier for them to beat you don't do that. When you do that you're making it easier for your guys to be blocked. I know it doesn't make sense, but that's Madden. You want plays with a combination of guys at the line and guys not at the line in position to swoop down. Cover 4 quarters for defending the run out of a pass defense look (spread line, base align, use the inside linebacker not blitzing), and the ones Eric mentions in the video. Cover 1 plays out of the 4-4 in the Giants playbook can also work but you have to have two good DTs for that to work, so only use it in MUT.

While I wont comment on the superstar abilities.. Blitzing the run isnt really effective unless you KNOW what run play is coming. The reason is blitzing can take you out of your gaps or over you might over run the play. Try sticking with base plays till you get a read on what there trying to do .. Then try a blitz. I know you didnt ask for help.. Just dropping my 2 cents

The gameplay is a massive improvement over Madden 19. The new adjustment controls are bullshit (shouldnt have changed them). Tampa 2 should play better, quikpasses occasionally don't fire, and these dumb fucjers should have to implement the features they have in the game but dont work at all (ie "compare stats") that lazy shit is inexcusable. BUT the game is fucking GOOOOOD, they finally integrated RPOs and theyre solid, yet not OP and gameplay is massive improvement over 19.

If it's Lamar or Steve Young you really can't. Best suggestion is to be in 3-4 and spy them manually with a linebacker. You want to fake like your covering somebody for a second and then shoot after them the absolute second they leave they even begin to move from the pocket. In MUT we should be able to cover these guys better when we get faster defensive players later on in the year.
