In this video I review the features of the 3 Legged Thing Leo travel tripod and the AirHed Switch Ball-Head Mount. This is an absolutely wonderful travel tripod with countless options and configurations. Take it with you anywhere, use it for macro photography and even as a video rig. I had the opportunity to meet 3 Legged Thing owner Danny Lenihan who gave me some of the Leo tripod’s highlights and I was so impressed, I just had to try it for myself.

Great review and demo. I saw this "tripod" on a Kelbyone course and ordered one. I love how small and light it is. My Gitzo is great but it takes up an entire suitcase diagonally, and then only fits in the biggest ones. I carried it to a waterfall in Hawaii to take long exposures. Next time I will bring this beautiful multi-tool. It does everything my Gitzo does and more. The only exception is height, but it's high enough. I saw a 10 or more footer the other day. I don't know who would need something like that, or where they'd keep it/put it when going to a shoot.

I mostly shoot landscape / seascape or travel images so don't have much call for the AFC mode or high frame rates, I have to say that the image quality is very impressive. I just need some decent light to make the camera and lens (extremely sharp) show their true capabilities. Enjoy.

Very good video. I actually came across this video because I just recently came across the 3 Legged Thing Punk Patti in my local camera store and was looking for more info. Your video does a great job showing the features of the tripod. As for the review which likened your review to an infomercial, I think I might see where that comes from. You are reviewing a tripod with features you really like. It's a positive review on something you like, which is not unusual. What might help is if you do a comparison video, showing two similar products. That might look less like a sales pitch. That being said, your video gives more detailed info about these tripods than any video posted by the manufacturer, so you are certainly helping those of us in need of info.

Tech Gear Talk: My home/family camera is a Nikon D 3100, but I also use DSLR cameras in my work. My current primary work camera is Nikon D7100, but I have also used D200, D300, D800 and D810. I have not yet purchased the Patti. I was leaning hard toward a Manfrotto, but seeing the Patti threw a whole new dimension into my decision process. Pretty sure that the Patti will be my choice, but doing more research. That's why your video was so helpful. Patti has flip-lock legs, for those who prefer that style.

Hello, you offer to ask questions here. I would like to take advantage of that. I would like to purchase version 2.0 of Leo. What strikes me is that the camera plate for attachment to the tripod head must be the one that comes with it? This is then square. I have the L-Bracket from 3 Legged for my Z7 and soon the Z8. Is this compatible with the Leo 2.0 ball head? Thanks in advance and greetings from Germany! ... by the way, great video!

I just bought the Corey and found out that you can buy that QR system as a retrofit. The cost is around $79 US I think so you're almost halfway to a Leo by that point. You just remove the hex and bolt the new plate on. I'm not bothered by the Mag Alloy either. I bought it to be a little rough with it and to save money. It was more important that I could actually fit it in my gear bag with all the other gear.
