I came to the comments hoping for this. Maybe it's just my family, but all of us have to be extremely careful with our knees. One time I knelt on my bed too hard and had to take 3 months to recover.
Thanks, at age 70 I love seeing these exercise videos as well as the check-in chart you added at the end so I can measure where I am now versus after doing the actual exercises for a week or two.

I think most difficulty standing from seated begins with trying to stand with your butt all the way back. Just remembering to move to the edge, so you're over your feet is the first part of standing.

I NEED a routine I can do. Do Bob and Brad have an over 50/60 routine for stretch and strengthen that hits all the major most important body areas for healthy everyday functions or for further longevity? Even a book with routines and pictures in it I can follow along with until it becomes memorized. I love all the videos but I get confused with how to put them or just remembering what to do. Thanks.

The number of times in 30 seconds depends on how fast you go. Which sounds obvious, but I wasn’t sure after watching Mike doing the move. At the speed he’s doing them, I was able to do 10 in 30 seconds. To do more than 17, I had to move pretty fast. I’m 63 and work out regularly, doing a lot of squats and lunges, so I’m able to do more than 17. But I had to move pretty fast!

Lunges, squats, and one-leg sit to stands are part of my routine, and I only did 9 in 30 seconds. I'm 61 and tall (192cm) so my range of motion takes awhile. I wonder if doing 17 without stopping may be a better barometer than speed.

@@mikebodner1812 Yes, I agree. 17 was a stretch for me and as fast as I could go. I think height has a lot to do with it. I’m 5’7” (170 cm). And props for sitting and getting up one legged. I can manage getting up with no hands but need both legs.

I'm also 63 and work out like a demon. I managed to squeeze in 19, but felt like a freakin' jack-in-the-box. I'm just shy of 5'3".

Don't rush yourself. Go at your own pace. More is not necessarily better.

I would suggest doing each leg separately when doing the heel raises. I've just recently discovered (after having issues with my left knee) that my right leg has been doing probably 75% of the work when using both legs. The right side I could lift with mostly no effort, and the left side I couldn't lift at all ...but when I did both feet at once I couldn't really tell!

@@heatherangellight8558 For my weaker side I support myself. I actually do these on my treadmill so use the bars to help me until I can build more strength.

For lunges don’t we need to make sure the knee does not pass the toes as lowering down? What if u have knee issues?

I have knee arthritis and I was told by my sports medicine doctor not to do squats. Do you think I could do maybe a shallow squat instead?

O my Goodness, thank-U for these exercises. My right thigh is getting weak. Even though I passed the test, there was great discomfort in the knees when rising. Am I making the discomfort worse? No injuries in my knees, I assume just weak from age

We would suggest not doing anything that makes your pain worse or new.

I turn 73 in a week. I di high rep squats (30+) with a 100 pound kettlebell as a warm up every time st the gym. My bench is 285 pounds for 2 reps. My deadlift is 320. I am trying to increase my bench to 315.
