01:55 This was the type of clue I made the center piece of my original Sherlock Holmes murder mystery. The killer went to the victim's home and tossed three books into the fireplace.

I’ve recognized all these clues in mysteries i’ve read and watched but never had names for them! this really helps to know the terminology when planning out a novel! Really enjoy your content!

hey i just found your channel, its really helpful. i have a request: can you make a video on how to make povs. i know we have to give more info about the story as the povs change and each pov has to have meaning and be diffrent but i dont know how to divide the timeline cause if the same thing keep happening, then it will be too boring... pls help!

Interesting idea! I think your instincts are right-you don’t want to have the same thing keep happening. I wonder if the easiest way to do this might be to ask yourself, “Who’s going to have to struggle most in this scene?” Then consider telling that scene through that character's point of view.

What about Christies eavesdropping clues where someone overhears or remembers something that was said or written and found that it does not mean what you think it does or could mean several things?. "She wasn't There."

Hi, David! I'd call those "translucent clues--" clues where the reader can definitely perceive the presence of a clue, but its import is initially unclear. You might want to check out this video next! kzread.info/dash/bejne/pIme08-Pk7XHpqg.html

Jane, I'm thinking about applying to MFA programs, but I'm kinda indifferent about it, I've been writing and publishing on my own for so long ( 32 years ) that getting an MFA seems redundant...if i've done it this long without it, than I don't really need it, but i want to try...i just figure they'll just say no and I won't be any worse off...i've been published as a poet but never as a fiction writer...next year, i'm going to start sending some fiction out and change that...

Hey, there! While I went to college for writing as an undergrad, I never attended an MFA program... so I'm not sure I can advise you about what you'd gain by joining one. Whatever you decide, I know you can't go wrong by continuing to learn and improve, whether that's as an MFA student or just someone studying on your own. It's very exciting that you're going to start sending out your fiction! Mysteries... or something else?
