Stuff we use:
LENS - Most people ask us what camera we use, no one ever asks about the lens which filmmakers always tell us is more important. This lens was a big investment for us and one we wish we could have made sooner. Started using this lens at the end of 2013 - amzn.to/2tbtmOq
AUDIO
Rode VideoMic Pro - The Rode mic helps us capture our backup audio. It also helps us sync up our audio in post amzn.to/2t1n2hx
Audio Recorder - If we had to do it all over again, this is probably the first item we would have bought - amzn.to/2tbFlM9
LIGHTS - Although we like to use as much natural light as we can, we often enhance the lighting with this small portable light. We have two of them and they have saved us a number of times - amzn.to/2u5UnHv
COMPUTER - Our favorite computer, we each have one and have used various models since 2010 - amzn.to/2t1M67Z
EDITING - We upgraded our editing suite this year and we’re glad we did! This has improved our workflow and the quality of our work. Having new software also helps when we have a problem, it’s easy to search and find a solution - goo.gl/56LnpM

This man has single-handedly given us the game. It’s because of him I pushed off outside of KZread.

I would love to see a panel or event with several of these speakers at once. Or even some small time writers who are doing minor paid gigs.

It’s a shame so much is based on algorithms now. So much could barely be found that could be great. It makes me think what can be considered a classic or a franchise might not survive today. I mean Jurassic park barely had dinosaurs for almost an hour.

I don't have amazon but I can see them doing with independent films like they do with regular merchandise. Collect data on what's being bought and then put their own version of that product first in it's listings. So amazon may be in the "first hit is free from the drug dealer" phase. If they were so good to independent films with getting them out there at first, what's coming next is the pushing. "You got to do it our way now..."

Great insights. J. Horton gives awesome info. HOWEVER, the screenplay hook in 10 pages never was a thing. Always has been that you need to hook the reader on the first page and if you can do it in the first sentence, even better.

So ,when did this change? Am I missing something? Two years ago I started producing my animated sci-fi series Phungus & Mowld, put it up on Amazon Prime and I'm publishing new episodes whenever they're done (I'm a one-man operation, so roughly one ep. a year). Whether the series is available via SVOD in the regions is at the sole discretion of Amazon staff/algorithms, but whenever I upload a new episode, it usually returns to SVOD for at least a year. And I don't even have a notable viewer base at all.

Follow the 1% rule. 90,000,000 Amazon viewers X 0.01 who might find your newbie film listed = 900,000 potential viewers X 0.01 actual viewers who care = 9,000 views/1 hour ea. $0.20 = $1,800 R.O.I. Be upfront with investors.

Lesson one; be original Lesson two; respect your audience Lesson three; respect your literary better who in a single novel achieved more for literature and entertainment than your entire corporation ever will. The “Rings of Power” will not save the WOKE agenda, they have only the power to destroy.
