- Oud & Lute - King of Instruments -
The origin of the oud belongs to the ancient times and similar instruments were used by the Babylonian and ancient Egyptian. Until today, oud is played as the "king of instruments" in Arabic culture.
The oud found his way to Europe in medieval times and it became "lute". During the Renaissance the lute was also regarded as the "king of instruments".

I am completely fascinated by this instrument. As if it was a door into the past, I can easily close my eyes contemplate thousands and thousands of years of forgotten stories

The problem of that is that the music is too good to be only a background. It keeps catching my attention out from work haha
@NaoSogabe

@@Nermalton77 Some other listeners said also the same "problem"... Please turn down the volume of your device lower. In this way, the subtle nuances are no longer clearly discernible. The music continues to function as ambient music. I hope it works the same way for you.

Are you tuned to the 432 frequencies on these beautiful solos?
@NaoSogabe
11 ай бұрын
I play here with pure 3rd and 6th intervals. The intervals have much more influence on our minds than the concert pitch. Please watch the video about intonation: kzread.info/dash/bejne/lYOqyqVwfNbMfrg.html I'm a lute player, and we tune on various pitches between A = 380 and 500 Hz. But we never tune on A = 432 Hz in early music. The pitch of A=432 Hz is based on too many conspiracy theories and pseudo-scentific assertions: kzread.info/dash/bejne/d3-IvJNuYdyyns4.html I play on A = 440 Hz with various intervals based on the scientific facts.
What tuning are you in
my new favorite music at 0.25x playback speed
Is this an electric oud? How does it sound so loud if it's acoustic?... Is this Arabic or turkish oud?
@NaoSogabe
10 ай бұрын
You are listening a recording and you don't have any possibility to know, how loud this instrument sounds... My Egyptian oud (of course acoustic) has an average volume like other ouds. But it has quite long sustain because of my playing technique. Please watch my video "5 Steps for Better & Various Sounds": kzread.info/dash/bejne/lYasvNqviMbJidI.html
