"I put down my device and go read a book!" Me expecting paper rather than another device. Me old. I like the habit stacking method, gives it a concrete place rather than a nebulous 'do it...some time!' approach.

I want to charge my phone outside but I have some anxieties surrounding not being able to reach it if there were an emergency situation at night. How would you suggest combating touching the phone if it stays in the room? :)

Oh my gosh I had the exact same worry before! I've been doing this for about two years now and actually have never missed anything urgent but just in case the first little bit I had a setting on my phone so that hat if one of my 'favorite' contacts calls me three times within ten minutes it would automatically turn off silent mode (it was a function on Android). But if it must be in the room I would suggest just put it somewhere you can't reach it from the bed, meaning you need to physically get up to grab it :)
