3 Healthy Foods High in Collagen, and Foods That Help Your Body Produce Collagen!

Collagen is one of the proteins important for the health of skin, hair, and bones, and with age, its production rate in the body can decrease, which negatively affects these organs.
Instead of taking nutritional supplements, some may prefer to eat natural sources rich in collagen or foods that stimulate the body's production of it, so what are these natural sources and foods?

I have hypothyroidism so my skin tends to be dry. I started seeing laugh lines on my face too. Awful! I started taking powdered bone broth and eating more fish. I just found out that unpasteurized sauerkraut eaten cold or at room temperature is one of the highest sources of vitamin C plus digestive enzymes and probiotics to help your digestion which will increase your vitamin and mineral etc absorption. Adding some apple cider vinegar with the mother into the non-pasteurized sauerkraut will help indigestion and also help to unclog your arteries.

I like your comment. Thank you. Fermented foods are a good source of probiotics, which are live microorganisms that are beneficial for gut health. Probiotics can help to improve digestion, boost the immune system, and reduce the risk of some chronic diseases. Fermented foods are also a good source of nutrients, such as vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. These nutrients can help to improve overall health and well-being.

Sport Snack, As a professional, I will do what I rarely do outside of medicine and education, educate you. Everything natural has amino acid sequencing. That is why an apple is not a cow, a cow is not a bird, a bird is not a seed. The optimal way to eat is variety. In this way the body receives a WEALTH of sequencing to effectively produce strength immunity, and flexibility of both body and mind. When it comes to what the human body requires for ligaments and tendons (throughout the body but mostly in the joints) and the brain, there is no substitute in the plant world for the animal world, none, as nothing is sequenced the same. Regardless of amino acids present, it’s the sequencing that gives vitality to these specific parts of our bodies as well as the body as a whole. Humans have had tens of thousands of years using this sequencing and our bodies are thus interconnected to it in order to maintain health. It will take hundreds of years to transition our bodies effectively away from animal nutrition towards plant only. The biggest problem with animal diets is primarily the mistreatment of animals and improper handling of the animal proteins we consume, including eggs and dairy. Our distant ancestors often did not have food when they needed it and certainly not in abundant variety. We now have an abundance of food, including variety. But the health and variety of meats can only be found in a few specialty shops and these days online through the many wild animal and range producers. Many of these producers are humane and give animals an absolutely trauma free life and when used for production, the animals are killed in ways that have no brutality or disrespect. But this is not how most people get their animal proteins. Unfortunately most human beings have terrible sourcing from the animal kingdom and the ways and means of animal stewardship is almost entirely horrific. My recommendation is to find the types of sourcing I’m referring to. Get varied animal proteins in your diet either a couple of times per week or at minimum a couple of times per month. This is not just about you and your body, it’s about everyone and everything you interact with. Mentally, emotionally, and physically we are the ones to lead us into more and more of what as a whole we wish to create, a planet without suffering. We have to work smarter and stronger and with better intelligence and resolve than we have done thus far. It won’t happen overnight, we won’t wake up tomorrow for example and be able to be vitally healthy in all aspects of health without the amino acid sequencing our bodies require, at this time. In the mean time, we have some wonderful opportunities to lead by example. Learn, intuit, and know truth. Don’t rush to get someplace we are not in human evolvement, it only delays us as a whole.

@@ToddDouglasFox Your message sounds wiser than many. It is unfortunate that overboard zeal leads us away from what nature and history have taught us. Truly healthy products are falling into oblivion or getting so expensive that non-vegetarians who have to have animal protein, will suffer physically. We hear a lot about supplements and vitamins to replace the desperately needed nutrients because of exhausted soil but how powerful are they? Thank you, Mr. Douglas.

@@mrsnegy6001 thank you for the compliment. Here’s a tip, NUTRIENT DENSE foods (by the producers who are using VERY humane practices) can be sourced on the internet. These proteins require much less effort to assimilate therefore require much less quantity of these products. This equates to no more money spent then if we get the cheap proteins from the grocer. The cheaper versions require us to buy and eat more. The healthy proteins also equates to LESS energy required to acquire, prepare, and utilize the proteins. And, of course this results in better physical, mental and emotional health, producing more beneficial energy towards the real goal, less suffering. Money is a strange phenomena that does not rule us but that each one of us has a relationship to based on our philosophical perspective. We can change that perspective, we are changing it. Food is to give us energy not to deplete us. Money is to gift us, not to rule us. Intelligent choices occur when we understand the process needed to reach our goals. Many are trying but not making real improvements. We need to allow new thoughts to enter and be willing to take action on the ones that are sound and fit into the greater picture. Every puzzle has all of the pieces. And many of us can and do contribute to solving puzzles. Stay open dear one. Offer what you have and take in and breathe the expanded versions as we fill in the pieces. It’s more fun than the alternatives and we get a lot done along the way. The more we get done, the less suffering there is in our world.

Several high-protein foods are believed to nurture collagen production because they contain the amino acids that make collagen-glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline. You may check this: www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/collagen/

Well to be fair, every source of protein, all of it consists of an abundance of amino acids which makes protein what it is. However, too much and excess intake of protein more than what you’re recommended can age you faster. Amino acids like L-Leucine activate mTOR significantly and promotes growth of muscles
