    Ok so it turns out the "Eisenhower Complex" is way more commonly known as the "Eisenhower Matrix" so if you want to find a template for that, Google the latter, not the former. ALSO, THANK YOU FOR 1 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS. SEE YOU IN THE NEW YEAR!

    1: Do the worst-first strategy. Don't start with fun, start with the most boring or dreaded thing to do. 2: Braindumping. Got 6 things on your mind? ... Write things down to stop thinking about it. Optionally use Eisenhowers matrix to sort things in 4 categories and execute upon that. 3: Mindfullness. Meditate, or Enter the present, rather than the default brain setting of "looking at it".

    Because it‘s hard to start, let‘s be honest. Most of us have their attention span and ability to focus fucked by smartphones, social media etc and are constantly overstimulated. Something as „boring“ as literally just sitting and breathing doesn‘t give us the quick instant gratification that we are used to. I think meditation should be implemented in schools and at workplaces more, it could literally change the world.

    This whole year has been a massive journey toward operating at my full mental potential, both with external and internal roadblocks taken into account. I have clinical depression and "brain fog", including cognitive issues, are a major symptom of depressive episodes for me. Being able to name and identify external factors that exacerbate this in addition to proper medication has made this year- for all the dumpster fireyness it encompasses- one of the best mental health years I've had in my adult life. Better Ideas has been a TREMENDOUS part of that- so thanks, yo!

I practice the techniques, described in the video it makes me feel a little better. however, the feeling of “everything is unreal and foggy” never goes away. What are the things that you find most helpful for you to cope with the challenge?

  • @audreyrush6667

    @audreyrush6667

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@user-tb5qr1yr4t The answer is honesty- with myself and others about the reality of what’s happening. There’s a funny tweet about a guy being called on to answer in class, and after a tense pause he says “give me a minute- I’m not dumb I’m just panicking”. I’ve gotten SO MUCH out of admitting my given circumstances to my family and, fortunately, my employer. I have a demanding job that involves a lot of strategy pivoting and personal interaction. I’m fortunate enough to report to someone who understands that supporting your staff means better results across the board (groundbreaking...). So anyway after a meeting in which I was particularly fogged I let them know privately: 1. I have clinical depression 2. A symptom, for me, is a range of cognitive issues 3. I can do just about anything you ask of me and pull reports to back it, I just might need a minute to step back and think things through. Same with the family, except replacing the product-driven goal with “I’m going through X, I’d like space/time for a bit and I’ll be right back with you”. Am I crazy privileged to have an understanding boss and supportive family? You bet. But you never get what you don’t ask for, and it’s always worth asking for space to take care of yourself.
