I've been watching your videos for the last few days as I attack the audio of my first film. You are a lifesaver! I'd planned to send the film over for sound design/pro sound person. Great set of tips, Dylan! Is there a way to speed ramp audio down like a turntable gradual slow down? I do this in logic, but it would be great if they were a built-in option in FCPX

@@dylanjohndickerson I hadn't known the correct term for the effect, it appears to be called a "Tape Stop." It's basically a non-linear speed ramp on audio, another method I occasionally use for transitioning music, but again I have to take my tracks into Logic to complete the step. @@dylanjohndickerson I just tried duplicating part of the initial phrase of my sample music, reversed, applied a speed ramp from 0, and then deselected preserve pitch. I think that's basically what I wanted to achieve. So there you go, kinda answered my own question, just hadn't previously succeeded at the attempt.

Holaa! Any tips how to ”soften” the voiceover? And make the voiceover ”sink in” the video better, you know?

Great video Dylan! Have you noticed some audio filters were removed after the last update? I'm not seeing mud remover or deEsser (not sure i spelled that right) anywhere. Did they change the name or do they want people to focus on using Channel EQ more? Thanks for all your great tips!

I have a problem/question. I recently added a clip to the timeline and when I play it, the audio and video are a second or two off. Not synchronized. Both are out of camera, the audio was not recorded on an other device. When I play the same clip on quick time or in the browser, it sounds fine. But when put in the timeline, not synchronized. Older clips sound fine. Any ideas what the problem might be? Thanks!

Hmm, not sure brotha! Could be that your project frame rate is different from your clip's frame rate?

Does anyone know why Apple removed audio effects like Muffled and Television etc from the recent update? Seems bizarre to take effects away

Just be careful not to kill the fundamental frequency with the sweeping. Not every peak that sounds bad in a sweep is undesirable at normal volume. There's a lot of tutorials and discussion out there if you want to learn more about this, usually in content aimed at music mixing.

@@SKYFALLVIDEOPRODUCTION786 Really....very odd. As just a test, try hitting shift H smack dab in the middle of the song and then add it. If it doesn't work then, then something is wrong with your FCP.
