Maybe do some stress analysis on the arms via ansys or something. Might save your quad from a nasty inward break due to extreme motor thrust

A little trick i do is design the frames abit more narrow and taller to get some vertical dimension and more aerodynamic and extrude round holes through the middle of the x frame and slide carbon rods through the frame with some glue for extra stiffness. you can remove atleast 1/3 of the plastic in the design then and use less infill basically a carbon rod skeleton i side your frame

Yeah flat frames like this aren’t designed for 3D printing and hence you don’t get good results. Designing a frame to properly make use of 3D printings capabilities would get much better results.

nice design. ive also designed an 3d printed a 2" and 2.5" frame out of Polycabonate, but it always had sone printing defects because PC was hard af to print ... whats your startup sound called?

Did you use PLA as the printing material? I printed a body similar to this, but my 4 inch drone did not fly. Because the drone was starting to shake as the engines started working. That's why it doesn't make sense to make bodies with PLA.

What's your spool you used.

How much did all the parts cost? Without the 3d printed

How many mm the baseplate? Pla+?

No that’s too brittle, it has to be at least as strong as carbon fiber since that can easily break in a crash, both of my drones have broken frames at the moment, one of them has 3mm thick carbon fiber but it goes 130mph

These designs are not good for 3D printing. Thin flat arms are meant for carbon fibre sheets. For 3D printing you would be far better to take advantage of the capabilities of 3D printing and design the arms to be thicker and a more optimal shape. You can’t just expect to 3D print a frame designed for being cut out of a carbon fibre sheet and expect it to work well.

I've never understood how people can fly analog... How can you make out details enough to fly as fast as you will? I understand many have and do, but maybe its my eyes or somethin...
