    That’s an outstanding grill!!! Thanks Mike for the review. I purchased mine about 1 year ago at Tractor Supply Co in Texas (it was on sale for $299 already built) and love it!!! I also added a rotisserie skewer and it is amazing the way it works! We cooked even Turkey for thanksgiving and came out perfect!! The only minor issue with the grill was the gap in the back at the lift drawer was very wide (in my opinion), it is about 2” and makes the grill not to keep all the heat. I added some aluminum foil and made the gap about 1/2” wide and the grill is PERFECT now!!! Thanks again Mike!!

    I've had this exact grill for 5ys. It's a piece of garbage. I keep it inside my screened on porch with a 3 embers cover. The outside looks great, but the inside is falling apart. The heat deflectors I've replaced, the grates, all of the knobs broke and were replaced. Even the glass window cracked and the entire lid had to be replaced because the screws holding the window in were so rusted they couldn't be removed. Everything was replaced under warranty, but it's a pain in the butt to do all those repairs. The led knobs stopped working about 2 years in. Now the burners are all rusting amc cracking. The little pegs on the back of the inside that hold up the heat deflectors rusted out so now there is a hole about the size of a quarter so they can't be replaced. The big issue now is the firebox is rusting through, so now I'm screwed. The grill looks amazing and worked amazing when I got it. And honestly, it's still working pretty well, but it's life is almost up at 5yrs. Lastly, the widow is great, but it needs to be cleaned frequently or you won't be able to see through it.

    Thanks for the review. I have the same gas grill. I cleaned the glass window with Dawn super wash spray. The 4 years worth of grease came out like a dream. I used a microfiber cloth with it at cool temperature. I want to use it with a flat top griddle so I can cook breakfast with multiple food like eggs sausage and hash. Wondering if you’ve done that. And what’s the results. I hate cleaning the grates after grilling burgers or ribs with barbecue sauce. So I thought using a flat top might be more practical

  • @GobbaGooBBQ

    Thank you for your support. Thanks for the Dawn tip! I have not used a flattop on this grill yet but that seems like a great idea. I usually use a wire brush to clean the grates but do it on the next cook after grill warmed up again. Heat it real hot then it scrapes right off.

    How hard is the piece to install that makes the lights work again? Just bought one of these grills at an estate sale and 3 of the 4 lights don’t work. I love the looks of the grill! Going to cook on it tonight after I get it all cleaned up!

  • @GobbaGooBBQ

    @GobbaGooBBQ

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thank you Mike! For the tent pin…You need to first remove the back panel behind the grill by unscrewing the 4 screws. Then punch through the metal where the original pin was welded on. You can probably push a screw driver through it. Then put the pin through the hole with the nut on the outside of the back panel. Then screw back panel cover back in. Let me know if you have any further questions.

    @@GobbaGooBBQ So I took the back off and put the tent pin in - Thank you for the tip....when I pushed the burners back in (they are screwed into the back of the grill), I knocked off my first knob. It looked like it popped off smooth so I put it back on. When I went to start the grill, I turned the knob and heard and smelled the propane so I assume the knob turned fine. But then when I press the ignition it makes a very weak clicking sound and I don't see the spark. Do you think this is knob related or just a coincidence and it is a starter issue? No battery for the starter, right? Thanks again!

  • @GobbaGooBBQ

    @GobbaGooBBQ

    Hi Mike! Glad you got the pin replaced. Re: knob.. I would look to see if the ignitor got mis aligned when burner tubes were moved around. Compare its location to the others. The smallest mis alignment will make it not light, from my experience.

    @@owl331 Interesting. The store I shop at normally has reasonably good prices. I discovered the grill a few hours ago while standing at the checkout counter. Never heard of 3 Embers brand prior to today. I'm unsure if this is the grill for me, but similar to any big purchase, I will shop around for the best deal. The thing that stood out to me in a positive way is the construction. As indicated in the video, it does look sturdy and well built. The lid is heavy due to double walled stainless steel construction with insulation between. Separately, this is for Gobba Goo BBQ, I hope you make one more follow up video that shows the grill after a very thorough cleaning. A full scrub-down of the grill grates, and maybe some EasyOff oven cleaner on the rest. Even a full cleaning of the grease pan, flame rails and internal basin of the grill. Make it look as new as possible. Afterwards show the true condition of the grill to get a sense of its quality after however many years you've owned it to that point. This would highlight any areas of rust or heat discoloration. I think viewers would appreciate that kind of review. Final point, the video indicates that the top left drawer gets hot. Has anyone tried to create their own insulation barrier for that drawer? Possibly using insulation board attached to the bottom of the grill, above the drawer, then creating a cutout for a louver vent on the back side of the drawer to release any residual heat? Personally, I would only use this drawer to store grilling utensils such as spatulas, knives, a cutting board, tongs, skewers, oven mitts, temperature probes, etc. The bottom drawer I would use for cleaning supplies.
