3 Easy Ways to Propagate Your Baby Rubber Plant (Peperomia obtusifolia) | Peperomia Propagation

Propagation and pruning your plant is a great way to encourage new growth and branches. Here are the super easy ways that I tried to make new free peperomia plants from leaf cuttings and stem cuttings by rooting them both in soil and in water. Here is short video where I tried to share all the stages of propagation with you. Thanks for watching❤️.

    You’ve made a wonderful demonstration from beginning to end, thank you! I’d never grown a peperomia (baby rubber plant) before until a few months ago and I just love it, it’s such a hearty beautiful plant and easy to care for, and I wanted more! Each stem I have has grown 1 foot so I’ll get busy propagating mine with both the stem and leaf cutting method that you’ve shown works so well. I can’t wait for roots👏🏻💕🙌🏻!

Let me know bc I will keep them longer if they ever do grow from a single leaf. I know the ficus plant can't grow from leaves but they root good. It's odd. But thank you!

    I just came across your video. Very well done, excellent job on showing the process. I do wonder though, which way to propagate. Which way is faster to having a full plant? I'd assume with the node..

    This is great! Do you have an update on how the leaf propogations are looking now? I have had a couple of leaves in water for a few weeks now and they’re starting to grow roots, I’d love to see what they end up looking like a few months after potting!?

    Hi there, i just bought my first plant. I'm glad to watch your video first. Very optimistic and easy to understand. Can I use just organic potting soil instead? That's all I have for now if i decide to propagate? For now my plant in its original soil looks ok. How long should i keep it there? Thank you

  • @smallthingswithmoumita9444

    Hi... I prefer to let my new plants settle down in my home environment for 2- 3 weeks and then I repot them using fresh soil. Yes, you can use organic potting soil for propagation. Make sure cuttings are taken from a mature plant ( as you mentioned you just bought it). Good luck.

    My question is because the leaves have not a node did they grow even after roots formed. I’m taught plants needs a node even with roots to grow 🤔

  • @stiaininbeglan3844

    @stiaininbeglan3844

    11 ай бұрын

    @@ritalewis5231Not all plants need a node in order to grow roots. Usually you can take literally a leaf from a succulent, without a node, and root it. I took a leaf from a snake plant (sansevieria), without a node, stuck it in water, and left it for a few months. The end of the leaf rotted so I cut that off and stuck it back in water (because you're supposed to be able to root just the leaf on snake plants, too, and this time it grew roots and then a whole new plant which, after almost a year from the original cut, is putting out its 3rd leaf. There's literally a while new plant off the side of the original leaf. I could probably cut them apart and do it all over again with the same original leaf cutting. Most succulents are supposed to do that same thing.
