I butterfly them, set them on moist soil and place in a closed baggy. I have five new plants from doing it this way. I also butterfly them and set them on the top of my plants to keep them nice and full. I have problems with rot when I place them in spagnum moss. I received my first cuttings from an elderly lady who gave them to me bless her ♥️.

How do you propagate without it rotting.? Ive planted them: rotted Water: just got clear and mushy Moss: leaves fell off and turned clear Pls help! Im sure there are alot of us with these problems and wants answers!):

If they're clear, it's overwatering and it will be mushy. Better to keep them on damp sphagnum moss inside a humid propagation box.

I just purchased a few cutting in sphagnum moss.. I put it in a plastic baggy and I think some have rot 😞 do you leave them out?

Are the cuttings long or have multiple nodes or are they bitterly! If they’re cuttings with length either put them in water or leave them in the moss. If they’re butterfly’s than you’d want to keep them in moss in a prop box.

@@CrazyPlantGuy they are longer.. I was going to do the butterfly method but was to nervous 😬.. I paid $65 for 7 strings about 4 inches long.. I lost a lot of leaves not sure if stems are good or not 😢 right now I have two strings with a few leaves and I’m not touching them lol I’m even afraid to water it

@@MountainsnVallies You can buy a rooted plant in soil for that price. Butterfly them and place them on moist soil. Then place them in bags under a grow light or well lit area. I now have five new plants from doing it this way. Don't be afraid!

@@countrygirl4422 the lady ended up giving me two more cuttings about 5 inches long, but they are from the bottom of her plant I believe.. leaves are tiny lol so.. I put in water this time.. so far so good but it’s only been a week lol I just need to figure out the watering or misting with the sphagnum moss way.. I’m new to this 😬 but ty for your advice! When I get a bit more growth hopefully I can do that! It’s very expensive here for a plant of Vsof

Try and pace it high up where your cat can’t get it,…unless your cat can’t get anywhere in your home. 😅

@@CrazyPlantGuy I’ve actually thought of that…have the perfect place, but I’m so afraid once it gets long he will start jumping at the ‘dangly strings just for me to play with’. Guess I’d have to bring out the squirt bottle!! THANK YOU. OH MAN……..just saw what I wrote. 🙄. My car is very well behaved and doesn’t attack plants! Lol.
