I've been working with Davinci Resolve for several months now. I had nailed down some glitch effects pretty good with a combination of basic tools I use (didn't want to use Fusion). But man, thanks so much for this video! I've been looking for months now how to make a more organic type of glitch, without overdoing any overlays or adding too much RGB. This is perfect! You got yourself another sub.

Also, I was having a difficult time using the bitmap. But now that I did, it definitely helps elevate that glitch to a whole new level. Thanks again!

@@lewisnostredame5605 thank you for your comment, Lewis. really glad you find this helpful to you and i'm with you, sometimes effects don't have to be overly complicated to be effective, couple nodes in fusion will get the job done.

Hey man, thanks for this video - very helpful! I'm trying to do the effect number 3. I'm struggling with the displace effect. I have the exact same node structure but the X Refraction doesn't seem to to anything to the image.. Also, when I set up the nodes and connect everything, there is no effect to media1out. Only when i put the TV effect on 2 I can see the effect. Any ideas what the problem could be?

hi, yeah, let's see if we can figure this out. so first things first, you said x refraction doesn't seem to work, did you check the channel in the displace node? i would also check channel in the bitmap node, and only project that to your viewer to see if bitmap is working or not, if it is not working at that step, then your displace node will spit out no result.

@@videoeditingcentral Thanks for your reply! I basically did everything you did, also the channel in the bitmap node. I can definitely see the changes once I select luminance in the bitmap node. But still nothing in the displace node.

@@pieroist got it. so you can see changes in the bitmap node but not in the displace node. well, this is very odd, i'd say double check the displace settings, like channel, type, also are the green and yellow inputs connected properly, etc.

great question. there are free glitch sound effects on youtube actually, that's where I got them and added them to the audio track on the edit page
