In Singapore we gather as a family and toss Yu Sheng. It's basically shredded vegetables with some spices and honey, plum sauce, etc. And we toss it up with chopsticks shouting our wishes for the year and eat it all. It's basically a salad, but really unhealthy lolol.

Love how they explain culture too! Each country has traditional food that people eat for some special occasions and I enjoy getting to know them😍 And..all three desserts look incredibly yummy for sure😋💓
I totally miss being able to go to lunar new year festivals and just celebrating them. the memory i had when i was little just walking around at night with my family and looking at the lanterns, the people who preformed chinese dragon dances, the food, the cats that you would pet at the temple, the firecrackers, the money you get ;)) and just the whole time was awesome. hopefully when things clear up they could hold more festivals.
The tangyuan filling can even be peanut, coconut, or just by itself and it still will taste really good 🤤
I really wanna make these for my kindergarten class when we celebrate lunar new year next week!!

I love celebrating the Lunar new year with my family back in Thailand, it has always been a blessing that we get to celebrate it together. I moved back to the UK and still keep a tradition of leaving food for a sort of shrine. I didn't have time to pray to it this morning but after I came back from school I sat me and my sister down and taught her what we do. The Lunar new year is something I'd be devastated to lose❤️
This is the first time I've seen Jasmine cook and now I'm a huge fan!
This was amazing. I am excited for more recipes from Jasmine ❤️
Lunas New Year was my favorite holiday growing up. The food brings back delicious memories.
Thank's, Jasmine! This was so informative, entertaining, and fun! Please keep sharing family traditions, here or on your own channel!!!
Hey Jasmine, just made the Fortune Cakes. They were amazingly simple thanks to your clear instructions. Can't wait to try them! Happy New Year to you!
My mom is from Singapore and we live in Switzerland, we haven’t been able to go back to SG for three years and we eat these delicious treats every time we go there so while watching this I remember how delicious it tasted in SG and I miss it so much 😭😭 thank god my mom makes these from time to time😻
Oh hell yess! I love tangyuan so much, it’s always my most favorite dessert, i always crave for it 🤤
anything shaped round is cute - Rie 2021 and Jasmine cited it again in 2022. Good reminder Jasmine!
I've had these foods every year on Chinese New Year but never like this; hope to try your recipes someday, Jasmine!
I honestly LOOOVEEE Lunar New Year soooo much better than regular new year, bc of all the pretty colors and yummy food! I’m not Asian myself, but I have an adopted sister from China! She also loves Chinese New Year as well, and we decorate our house with similar decorations as in the video! Of course, we couldn’t have as big of a celebration bc of COVID, but we still Zoom each of our family members in a group meeting and they have the same desserts and decorations as us and it’s so fun! 😍 🧧🎎🎊
In Indonesia they are called onde-onde, kue mangkok, and wedang ronde. Very yummy!
I tried making this and failed miserably. Not sure how I did that. Gonna try another recipe. Edit: I DID IT!! THEY’RE SO GOOD
I am so happy you guys made this video! These are all, like ALL of my favorite foods, and it’s asian based too! This makes me so happy, 👍🏼💜🥳🥺✨, I am Cambodian by the way! 🥰
Thank you so much for this video. Our Korean New Year is called "Seollal"! - I appreciate the inclusive awareness you're spreading.
Black sesame is my favorite filling for Tangyuan... It looks so good 🥺 and I'm team hot broth but I like it both ways ✌🏻

@@chromberries7329 usually people will say happy chinese new year and barely talk about other countries also celebrate this holiday and how this is an Asian holiday instead of just chinese. So, I’m happy to see an influencer involving other cultures in their videos when talking about Lunar New Year and promoting this holiday the right way.
