Tip: you can unscrew the outlet cover plate for a much cleaner and easier way to do the outlets. Put screw loosely back in place, so you don’t loose it. Then you can clean up the outlet plates or cover them and screw back on. Tighten the screw to the point it is firm and the screw groove is straight up and down.

I absolutely love the placements as a backsplash. You could do a color on the plastic behind the placemats which would be awesome. As always thumbs up 🤗

thanks for sharing. great ideas. I highly suggest doing all of them the way you did the first one, on paper frame or some kind of frame. Even the adhesive can be done that way, without worring about a hard time after taking it down. At that point, once fixed, it can all be taken down by just removing the small nails or strong tape holding frame in place

I love clever! One question or suggestion. As a professional Home Stager, TheCyberStager™️ (with OCD :), especially on your first two projects where coverings were thinner, I would have removed or loosened the outlet wall plates and reinstalled over new coverings. Only takes a minute to remove and leaves a perfect finished look.

So much to love here; including you and your remarkable talent to envision these beauties! I love all 3 but especially the silver placemats! I have been looking lately for a way to cover both my backsplash and my countertops with contact paper in my rental, and I think you’ve given me the inspiration and knowledge on how to do it! I’m thinking that with your 3 coats of mod podge in addition to the plastic underneath it, it may very well work, but since I love the silver placemats, I believe this will be even more perfect for me! FYI Mod Podge is actually an adhesive, not a sealer. It easily rehydrates, and turns milky and/or tacky. Its great for preventing runs and smears of perm inks from sealer application. In this situation, a good acrylic sealer or varnish would be long lasting, water / moisture resistant, and provide a high gloss finish if that's the desired end effect. With such beautiful and creative work, it would be a shame to have a top coat ruin the project.

thanks for the inspiration. I recreated my own version of #2 and it looks awesome.

She's usually pretty good about execution, but ...you could've literally taken off the outlet covers, get ur backsplash on as close as possible to the outlet and then screw the cover back on for a cleaner look. Rather than making the cut around the cover, making it super obvious.
