3 Days Winter Wild Camping - Sleeping under Tree - Cold Weather Hike
3 days bushcraft trip and enjoying really cold weather. Previous hike was so much harder where temps pended under and over the freezing point. Had a great time in the moody winter forest with nice food and great views. Planned to eat the big hunk of meat the first day but it took me 3 days to try to get it to thaw in the cold. And the mince was not frozen to begin with but was very frosty when i tried to cook it. It was so many years ago we had cold weather like this and I almost forgot how to deal with it. The dry air is a blessing for sure. Im really glad with my new sleeping bag combo. It may not seem optimal, I tried before the more common combination of the Tropen together with the Defence4 but this one is great on the outside because its big and the only square one they have in production, and has great water resistance. The spacious way I find very comfortable as I am a crazy tosser and turner when i sleep. So its more like you have the defence4 inside a bivy where you can move. I was very warm and comfortable in the cold. I never insulated more from underneath or used my hot water bottle as was the plan. Getting both bags to fit inside the defence4 compression sack was great bonus. As I write this rain is pouring down my windows and ice on the lakes is gone. Next time I will be back with the cold. Enjoy
As always materials for crafting etc is brought to site and not harvested on location. Please follow the Swedish Allemansrätt if you go camping in Sweden. Lately a lot of sites where i park my car to reach trailheads has been piled up with litter with foreign language on it left last summer/fall. I just cant understand people from down in Europe traveling up to Sweden, with the sole purpose of experiencing wilderness, and they just leave trash in plain sight when they leave. I mean.. at least burn it if you got a fire anyway, so plastics don't reach water ways or hurt animals. Bottles, plastic bags, old tables and even depressing looking old sofas. Unbelievable. Lately land owners have put up locked road barriers and thats sad I think because we always had a free open landscape open to anyone. Leave no trace.

Thanks for the 37min of Peace🌲🌲🔥🌲❤️
nothing like a lot of snow, a fire and a cheeseburger. bravo!
So many people turned to hiking/being outdoors here in the US last year; great, they're enjoying nature, but they've just DESTROYED the trails and trailheads with trash. We ended up not doing any hiking in the nearby White Mountains because it just makes my wife rage-hike the entire time. As it is, we pick up a silly amount of garbage (alas, a ton of abandoned facemasks) even on the smaller trails we did hike. I share your astonishment that people trying to enjoy the outdoors would be so willing to dump their trash in it.

Hawaii trails has been the same. Trash everywhere from moronic non caring people. Social media is the blame for all of this. Before social media, trails were slowly touched. All it takes is one selfie nowadays to show people where they are. It's sad... But I do my part and pick up any Opala. Opala means rubbish in hawaiian
Oh yeah.....this is the Big tasty Black Forest Bushcraft- Burger...and i like it!!!!

I've been watching your videos for a while now and I have to say that this is an absolute masterpiece. From frozen deer to the crackling of the fires and cooking. The beauty of the surroundings. Of all of your videos I take heart in the ingenuity of your craft and humanity, you should be proud of what you have achieved with this one.👍
First: Thank you for taking us into the beauty of your Country! I'm from Germany and have been in Sweden 7 times and whenever I came to a shelter like the one you've been using here I found litter... Without exception the litter was German, beer cans, plastic bottles what have you. I felt ashamed for this behavior but the only thing I could do was packing my own waste bag a little bit more with their trash. So sorry for all those idiots, we're not all this way. Stay safe Andreas

It is not Germans who litter here in Sweden. Swedes also go to buy German beer and other kind of alcohol in Germany as it is cheaper there. Then they party in the forest and litter in nature.

Brother Swede👍👍 Nice tree to shelter under first.. Now that's what I call a burger, damn! A little better shelter second, more for rain than cold though... Frosty country there this time, made me cold just seeing it.. A hunk of meat that big in sub-zero weather, no wonder it took such a long time to thaw... Same all over the world, trash everywhere and getting worse..shame. Great video and well done, thanks for bringing us along. Stay safe. Enjoy!

And my day is made! Waking up to another slice of your world always makes me smile, my friend. I am sorry to hear about the cretins that leave trash. Unfortunately, America is full of them, too. I have carried a garbage bag with me on hikes and mushroom forays for decades, picking up after my fellow man. I enjoy running up to people I see littering and, picking up their garbage, hand it to them and say "Excuse me, I think you accidentally dropped this!" Love to see their faces. Hard to do that with a sofa.

@@spookyreaper1702 And when he throws it down again, as you are correct, they may do, perhaps they will think about it, and eventually learn something. I have faith many people can change given enough encouragement. And I also see your point. Just hate to see them have no repercussions at all. Karma is not often fast enough for me. ;-)
Another great video! That hamburger was EPIC! Sorry to hear about people dumping their trash and ruining things for everyone. I had a similar experience at a favorite spot. A family had set up camp right on the narrow beach of the lake, claiming the entire bit as "their" campsite. They ran a chainsaw, gas generator, stereo, and were generally obnoxious, so I opted to camp on a point at the far end of the lake, but sound travels well over water, and it made for an unpleasant trip, particularly the partying late into the night. When they left, the beach was a mess of broken glass, cigarette butts, and partially burnt green wood from live trees they had been cutting down for firewood. Their parting gift was to drop 2 full garbage bags of soiled disposable diapers, empty beer bottles and cans, broken folding camp furniture, punctured inflatable water toys, and uneaten food both cooked and uncooked, on a smoldering fire pit. Some 2-stroke mixed gas was dumped over the bags, which did not ignite, and they started to get in their vehicle to leave. Once the outer bag melted, much of the contents spilled out of the fire pit. The smoke and stench were unreal. Several others took pictures, tried to speak with them, but were threatened by the father and told off by the mother. So the pics of them doing what they did, their vehicle and plates were sent to both the Ministry of Natural Resources, and the Provincial police. I don't know if anything ever came of that, but I dearly hope so. All it takes is one douchebag to ruin things. The local snowmobile club that looks after the trail to the lake, and the other campers spent days trying to clean up the beach, rake the broken glass out of the sand, and clean up the garbage that was thrown into the woods. We all left with at least one bag of trash to dispose of properly. The thing I could not believe is their toilet solution was to cut a hole in the seat of a plastic patio chair, which the ones who were not still in diapers (I would argue they all should have been) would then drag to a different spot each time, going 10-20 feet into the woods, do their business, and leave everything unburied. Toilet paper (they used ALOT) and tampons made most of it easy to find, but how badly must your brain be wired to do any of that?? Sorry, I guess this rant does not fit with this beautiful video, but reading your notes reminded me of this, and angers me to no end that this sort of thing goes on everywhere.

Ok... thats worse than what I have seen lol. That's horrible man, like an absurd movie that focus on human decay in a miserable existence. You guys sure did an effort there because people like that, if they don't respect nature they risk ruining things for us all. People like that is what makes landowners put up locked gates. Thanks for watching my friend!

Swedwoods LOL "misery loves company". Those people sure spread it around to a lot of other people who got dragged into their aftermath, setting aside their own trip to try and undo the damage. As bad as it was, it did restore some faith in humanity to see everyone put aside their own trip to come together and try and clean it all up, as best as we could. It got much easier when someone got hold of the snowmobile club, and they showed up with full sized shovels, rakes, and such. Sad that they had to but it helped to know there are still more good people than bad.
Good work bro. We love it

Probably the most passionately produced cheeseburger ever seen in bushcraft. Love that rucksack. It looked miserably cold out there, so we're glad you stayed warm. Sorry about the braindead folks who trash the wilderness. It's our effeminate fatherless modern society.

I agree with your comments about the trash problem. I have found beer bottles in the middle of NOWHERE. Honestly, how brain dead can you be to one, pack in bottles for miles and miles, and secondly to then leave them for someone else to pack out. I have hauled hundreds of pounds of trash out of the bush over the years. Disheartening. Anyway, another beautiful video brother.

Great video Swede, you have me intrigued now with the bag in a bivy setup, I will check it out. Regarding the litterbugs, we have a rash of the same activity here in the States, really disheartening. Some folks are so disrespectful to the parks and others. They think nothing of trashing (literally) a natural setting due to laziness and contempt for others. Makes me ashamed to say I live in the same country as them, honestly. Wishing you and yours the best in this new year, keep doing what you are and demonstrating the code of conduct.
