3 DAYS Thru NORWAY by Boat, Bus, & Train! ⛴ 🚎 🚆

Watch this video to experience a Norway Travel Adventure entirely on Public Transportation!
Over the course of three days, we’ll make our way across Norway’s rugged West. We’ll travel through fjords, down treacherous mountain roads, and over beautiful glacier-fed rivers. And we’ll do it all on public transportation.
We’ll start in Ålesund where we’ll step onboard the Geirangerfjord II Ferry to travel through three of Norway’s fjords in three hours.
Day two, we’ll hop onboard a public bus in Norway with a twist. We’ll travel from Geiranger to Åndalsnes passing along some of the most incredible scenery of the trip. We’ll even traverse the world famous Trollstigen Road!!
Day three finds us onboard a couple of trains in Norway! We’ll travel first from Åndalsnes to Lillehammer and then transfer to another train to Oslo!
In this video, you’ll see everything you can experience on this Norwegian Travel adventure! And, if you want to book these experiences, here’s how:

Yeah there are positives but those stoppage time limit during bus trips are unfair. With so much beauty to take in you need plenty more time & thats we drove toyota yarris hybrid. Its took on the terrain quite well and cause of tiny size curvy roads wont any problems

@@johnsingh5943 For sure, being in full control of your trip is great. Some roads are better for doing the driving yourself (Highway 1 in California). This trip in Norway....maybe like you said, it's easier in a small car. Guess I'll have to try both. Haha.

Nice summary of a part of the country that I have yet to visit. My father loves driving Trollstigen on his motorcycle! 😎 About bus on ferry: I used to drive a bus service from Bodø to Sortland. The trip lasts for almost 7 hours and includes a 1 hour ferry ride from Bognes to Lødingen. And another fun fact: the only way to get further north in Norway from Bognes is by ferry, unless you drive through Sweden. Feel free to visit us in North next time you come to Norway! I promise you there’s more to see!

Fantastic scenery…… if you are looking for train/bus/boat (and the odd dodgy, precarious road) alternatives look no further then Queenstown NZ. Boat includes Milford Sound, sail Lake Wakatipu or jetboat/raft down Shotover River, bus up to Cornet Peak, to Milford Sound and for precarious roads try Skippers Canyon, train includes Taeiri Gorge railway or Tranz Alpine/Glacier Express. Other forms of transport incl Skyline(southern hemisphere’s steepest cable car) and the flight in/out are spectacular. Only problem ? For me in Manchester, UK you could barely be further away ! 😩

Well these “serpentine route” remember me at Chile border (Paso Libertadores, Cristo Redentor Tunnel), at Chile border side you have a serpentine route from 3.600 to 2.200 meters over the sea. Also, at northen Argentina, at Salta province, you have the “Cuesta del Obispo”

Public transport is sometimes the simplest way to go. Trains or buses are sometimes the only way to get to places that are well worth a visit when you you don't have the $$$ to hire a private car or rental or just want to enjoy the simple pleasure of the journey. We've done this to visit Hallstatt, Austria, to take one of the scenic trains in Switzerland on our way to the Lauterbrunnen Valley, to visit Neuschwanstein (and other castles) in Bavaria, etc. My wife and I are more than happy to use public transport when it makes perfect sense to do so. This trip and the modes you took will be added to our list. Happy to recommend some places for you and Suzanne to visit - things that have brought my wife and I immense joy. Kudos once again for a brilliant narrated trip report..

Robot lawn mowers are very common in Norway. Labor is costly, so many parks and public areas use them instead of hiring someone to do it. Also of course many use them in their private gardens.

It’s fun to hear how the people in the back experience the drive up Ørnesvingene and Trollstigen. I’ve only been up front driving the thing. As a bus driver, that has been driving there a few times, I’m usually more exhausted driving from Gerinanger in the other direction (if you would continue onwards past the hotel) just because of the sheer amount of turns and traffic there. If you look at 05:02, in the video, one of the trips we do we usually start at the bottom and all the 1500m (roughly 4900ft) up towards the peak, and then back down again. It’s always a treat visiting Geiranger, especially if the weather holds up. But this summer have been especially cold and wet so you got lucky with the weather there all things considered.
