3 Days Solo Bushcraft - Campfire Cooking, Pipe Carving, Bench, Raised Bed + More
Ойын-сауық
Still scouting for new areas to camp, I find a suitable location next to a marsh and spend 3 days camping alone.
During the trip I cooked over my campfire, made a raised bed, fashioned a small bench, and carved a tobacco pipe.
Recipe for the cornbread I made on the last day:
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup corn meal
1 tbsp sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup water
2 tbsp oil
Mix all dry ingredients together, then add water and oil. Mix until smooth.
Pour into greased pan and bake until a wood sliver passes without batter sticking to it. Makes enough for 2 filling breakfasts.
Thank you to everyone who watches, I really hope you enjoyed the trip.

Man as an outdoorsman and as a pipe smoker myself, I have to say you are a rare commodity these days. A young man with your woods skills is unheard of. So happy to have discovered your channel. Love the content.
Congratulations ! You make things simple and easy for those of us who love the woods. I am now 87 and was once like you !

Your films are amazing but please do not carve in the triangle of death (between your legs) on slip and its good night my friend! Take care
Hi! I just have to say, I LOVE your approach to this video. No BS or long-winded explaining like many other people tend to do, just the simplicity of the journey and enjoyment of nature. I can't wait for more of these adventures in this long format!
Love sitting under a tarp with the rain falling. The sound is so relaxing.
Ryley I watched one of your first videos and your development onto no commentary and still camera on tripod is oddly quite brilliant. The care you have taken to get the angles and shots makes for very captivating viewing. The cooking and carving is very educational and entertaining. Your adventures remind me of the writing of Grey Owl.
Thanks for cutting down the dried trees.
Just hearing flying bugs starts to piss me off, however if you grind the hell out of a bunch of pine needles it'll give off oil, bugs hate it for some odd reason so just rub some of that on you, put about 5 pounds of it on the fire (five pounds really isn't a lot) and your good to go.
Real tobacco !! I miss my Grand Father and his pipe.
I feel dumb watching this man live alone in the woods as I sit in my room watching his videos as I eat chips.

That cornbread was perfect chef! Nice to see variety in your meals you ate. Simple yet delicious.
Your videos are not just instructive, they are remarkably calming. I love the silence, simplicity, and genuine heart that you put into this. Thank you for taking the trouble to film your trips.
I cannot applaud you enough for these amazingly instructive videos. I watch them, watch them again, then watch them again and make notes. The planning that goes into your trips, not to mention the video planning that goes into your trips, is so very evident. Btw, your hatchet skills are quite admirable. Another very well done documentary, thanks again.
Love all your videos Ryley. You offer an important reminder that there is another side to the hustle, bustle and stressors of life. Disconnecting, simplifying, and finding a little slice of peace now and then, can be very revivifying! LAL

I may not be an OG to the channel, but I'm certainly going to be a fan for however long your channel is up. Wish you well, from Oregon.

What no tea and crumpets with that breakfast ! You beauty that looked awesome, thanks
Your videos make me feel happy. Thank you.
I enjoyed the no talking format. He conveyed a lot of information visually, cool stuff!
Wow, what a pretty fire stack. Excellent.
Cool the pipe carving!
Beef jerkey and rice! What a genius, my man
good to watch all the older vids and see your evolution - just watched where you talk about getting rid of the airbed - the saw looks new in this one! - and your kits has got smaller - tarp and pack....this is a great watch thanks
You eat better in these videos in the wild than I do at home!
A tea with a good smoke 😍 the best part of the day
Nice and simple. Wouldn't change a thing. I would smoke cigars instead of the pipe though. Oh and two bags of tea one cup of jack in the boiling water with a slice of lemon or orange. Otherwise don't change anything else.

Great video, no comment, no music but a great narrative. My heart was in my mouth when you carved that pipe. One slip with that very sharp knife and you would be in trouble ... and all to smoke tobacco. Hmm.

The carving technique I used is actually very safe. It looks dangerous, but there's little to no downward pressure being applied. Many experienced wood carvers use this same technique.
