3 Day Winter Truck Camping | Cross Country Skiing | Euro-nymphing | Hound dog!
We took our Northstar SC 850 truck camper on a trip into the mountains. We spent our time cross country skiing, fishing, wandering around the banks of the Salmon River and eating BBQ sandwich’s. A bad day at fishing is better than a good day at work!

Thanks bud! They are great and its a far cry from sleeping on the group- especially in the winter time out west. I see you are getting out on your channel as well!

@@westernsoutherner1 Doing my best to get out when I can, it's hard when the days are still so short 😐 Hoping to get out chasing some steelhead here soon.

Thanks for watching man!
Nice video. Are you pleased with how your camper furnace performed in the very cold temps? My van propane furnace works well but I am curious how it would do at -30F.

Thanks for watching! Yes I am okay with how it works, however I have a long career in the backcountry so my tolerance is pretty high. You would use a lot of fuel for certain. I would keep a secondary heat source around too like a generator and space heater.

Interesting that my propane generator cranked and ran at -30 but my Merc. Diesel engine gave me a hard time. I thought propane did not perform at extreme cold. @@westernsoutherner1

Yea usually propane gives trouble at that cold. I think my coldest camp was -7 in the camperr. I had the fittings shrink once and propane was leaking out. Sketchy. That was low single digits when that happened. Replaced the pigtail and the flame king tanks appear to have a better seal. Diesel has a hard time in the cold too I guess. I don’t know anything about the diesel heaters but seems like they are catching on.
