Western roadtrip | hot tent camping | Arctic Fox trailer |. Snowstorms and trailer brakes

I took a trip to western Montana to pick up an Arctic Fox camper trailer. I camped out on the way through the mountains, got caught in a snowstorm, and made it home a couple days later. Wild ride over Lost Trail pass with a 25’ camper behind a half ton truck. Lastly, a quick tutorial on trailer brakes. Enjoy and thanks for watching!

Nice to have a four season trailer. I used to have a 28’ jayco. You may want to look at air bags for the rear if you find your rear squats a bit even with the WD hitch. Pulled with a 1500 chevy and an F350 diesel. The 1500 pulled, but with the winds on the prairies it was pedal to the floor, course the diesel was a dream, until it left me stranded with an emissions sensor failure.

Agreed the 1500 is maxed out hauling this thing. I have a 2500 but a truck camper sits on it pretty much all the time. Any long hauls with the trailer and Ill use the big truck. Thought about airbags also- long list of toys, mods, and maintenance as Im sure you understand. Diesel operations/emissions is a complex world. The 4 season is really nice-stays around 40F-50F in the guts of the camper so far as I have monitored even on nights in the 20's. I leave the little inside doors open to make sure warm air circulates. The Artic Fox is a hell of camper I have to say. My dad has a 20" Microlight that he modified with heating pads on the water tanks and has used it in surprisingly low temps (teens) as well. Of course he was consistently monitoring it with laser temperature gun. Obviously a lot of power and fuel consumed to maintain a functional plumbing in conditions like that. Thanks for watching!
