Son of a birch or son of a beech. Never mind the ash holes.
I love the fact I CAN CLICK LIKE on your videos as soon as I start watching. Why? Because I already know the video will be AMAZING AS ALWAYS. I just wanted to say Thank you to you and Erin for all the time and effort you guys put into each and EVERY VIDEO! I know she may not ALWAYS be in the videos but there have been MANY times I have seen her haul into campsites to help set them up in advance or even haul into a campsite just so you don't have to do it alone. She seems like an AWESOME partner!

I agree, AND I am a supporter of this channel. But I think also think it's incredible reckless and a poor example to up and comers, to go out in water this cold and at this time of year on Superior specifically. Superior is a killer. Check out the Bill Mason film, and that wasn't even May. He came close. A wetsuit isn't going to save you if the cards are stacked against you. Just saying.....

ML, Superior is a killer year-round though...middle of August. Too many people are reckless about it but I think we need more people showing themselves wearing a PFD, dry suit, staying close to shore, talking about needing a flexible schedule, bringing extra food in case, etc. I remember that Mason scene...could happen to anyone, even him

The beauty of Superior. Thank you
Puckaskwa pits. Still enigmas. You covered every purpose I found listed for them. To elaborate the spiritual possibility, some feel they are 'Thunderbird Nests' that would be occupied by First Nations people who were on Vision Quests.
Love to be with you John on your travels of Lake Superior. Love it when it’s calm and tranquil and I love it in all its fury. It’s just a beautiful lake.
Those drone shots at 10:18 were so incredible.
Love the camping nerd comment about tarp tie-outs!
You are so poetic , the way you phrase things . I’m always touched by the beauty of the lakes and your words ❤️

WOW, you really outdid yourself on the beauty of Superior's shoreline on this one Jon! What a great trip.
I positively adore how much time you spent in this video just busting ice...I'm a man child too!!

Beautiful!
Enchanting landscape. We're so, so lucky to live here.
Certainly is something about Lake Super. I grew up on the South Central Coast in Munising. Take a ride down and paddle the Pictured Rocks 👍👍
Superior lake shore. Nothing like it. Congrats and thanks for another great video.
Lake Superior is also my favourite lake, having done many kayaking trips over the years. What a lovely place to spend a few days in early spring! It's also very satisfying to not have to rush and take time to explore and enjoy the hidden gems.
Outstanding!!!
What an amazing trip!! Loved watching it
Thank you, once again, for bringing back my memories of visiting that wonderful part of the world!
It’s amazing that Lake Superior even exists. Even more amazing that it is still so wild.
Wonderful to see such pristine wilderness. Thanks for all you do.
Another great video! Glad to see some open water fishing again!
Beautiful photography !!!! The scenery is magical ! Wildlife is an extra bonus.
Such a beautiful place. Thanks for taking us along.
Awesome variety of filming, little scratching bird in the brush (white crowned sparrow)?, ducks, beautiful water, cooking etc. Thanks so much
Great video as allways. Very cool geode you found. Sweet find
So good having a hot drink on a frosty morning.
being a Minnesotan, i LOVE LAKE SUPERIOR!! every summer i spend a week on the north shore, the scenery is breathtaking
I love that you say "thank you" to the fish and the trees.

Cool! We used to drive the 17 every year when I was a kid, and the lake superior section was always my favorite. Always wanted to go back and do some photography but it's never worked out. I really liked the shots you got of those interesting ice formations.
This video was satisfying with no preservatives ❤️
Great job as always with this video Jon! Thanks for taking us along.

Shiny Side's gourmet tips! Try coating filets with Italian bread crumbs - cheese, herbs & spices mixed in. Thermos coffee: put a cinnamon stick in at fill-up, great flavour when poured. Do all this on the shores of heaven!

I think you might live in the prettiest place on earth. Ice coming down the rocks was so beautiful. Loved that green rock. Hope you took it home. Loved ALL the rocks. Thanks
Your senior shots are beautiful
I am looking forward to more of your trips. I enjoy your pausing to appreciate/identify birds, plants, rocks, etc. that other canoe trippers seem to ignore. When you are out there it is all about having a rewarding experience with the natural world. My first spring paddle today. I am too told for big trips, but I always enjoy a quiet paddle on a quiet lake or pond.

Holy Moly, that was a beautiful Trout. So glad you have that dry suit, Jon. Great trip. Thank you. 👍🙂🛶
So beautiful thank you for taking me along
Stunning.
The Great Lakes Region is fantastic. I feel blessed to have grown up there.
We have those pits (and still make them) around the edges of salt marshes and waterways down here in southwest NS. The stones are the foundation, then you build up a brush wall around it and sit inside it for duck hunting. Seems like they were probably used in a similar fashion.

Love Superior!! Although it is smack dab in the middle of two big developed countries it somehow retains it’s wild appearance of being untouched. Wild. Untameable. Beautiful. Can’t wait to go back. Great video Jon. Hope things are going well for Erin and you. Thanks for sharing.

when you're out on Lake Superior it always reminds me in a weird way of my fishing trips to the Bahamas. 2 wildly different areas, but same scrub pines and beautiful water.
You covered all my favourite’s - Botany, Geology and Biology! Excellent upload.
