When I started praying the rosary, one time I was overwhelmed by all the work I still had to do and broke down crying. Then I remembered that Mary was also a wife and mother. Another method for those who find the Rosary difficult is to break up the Rosary during the day: one decade in the morning, another at noon, next at the afternoon, next at evening and last at bedtime.

If you only pray one decade each 10 years of your life, what the Lord hears is... a Rosary. However, He does love hearing from us daily. 🙂

God knows our weaknesses. Let's pray that God would help us surmount these weaknesses that come as voluntary and involuntary distractions when saying the Rosary. Let's pray that God would make us understand the essence and importance of the Rosary and that we must NEVER try to replace it with any other prayer. I pray that all those saying the Rosary benefit from the teachings shown in this video! The Rosary is a prayer that we cannot do without, apart from the Holy Mass. The Rosary is very beneficial and that's why the Blessed Virgin Mary prescribed it for the whole of humanity. Moreover, we must NOT see distractions as obstacles to saying the ROSARY. One secret I would want to share is that distractions increase when the Devil notices that our prayers are gaining grounds and producing the desired effects. So, the Devil fights to stop these benefits by producing various distractions; and such distractions could be anything, as long as the Devil knows that they could push you away from the Rosary. So, we must fight harder at these times to defeat the Devil and these distractions. It is a battle that we must fight to win. Let distractions NEVER discourage you! In a nutshell, distractions are signs and indications that your prayers in the Rosary are winning; so, step up and throw those distractions away! Thanks for this very beneficial video!

Yes, I come back to revisit the earlier comment I made about this very great video message. After listening to the nitty-gritty of the video, I came to realize that I must have been too harsh in my comment; and to this, I regret and say unequivocally, 'I'm sorry'. The crux of the video message is centered on these issues: 1. Physical or self-made distractions 2. Non-physical or non-tangible distractions 3. Self-deceit in thinking that another devotion is better than or equal to the rosary 4. Despair arising from 'insurmountable' distractions. To Issue #1: this is really not an intractable problem, since the person involved in such can easily physically put away those sources of distractions. And anybody desirous of saying the rosary must understand that distractions are not welcome. To Issue #2: this is a problem a person would have to handle by making that effort and self-will to fend off such waves of distractions, which, unfortunately, would continue to come but would not succeed, if the person is alert at throwing them out. To Issue #3: this is where commonsense comes in. When we mention, 'ROSARY', we understand it as a prayer to Our Lady, as has been passed down the generations with time. So, another form of prayer, though still good, is NOT the Rosary. It's as simple as that! It is just commonsense! So, saying the Rosary is to say the Rosary as it should be done. There is no alternative, otherwise, The Blessed Virgin Mary would have mentioned that at the time She revealed this beautiful prayer in the thirteenth century. To Issue # 4: Everybody knows that the human mind is not insulated against thoughts and various ideas. So, even if not at prayer, the human mind is still the recipient of thoughts, ideas and suggestions. So, it is not surprising that thoughts flow into a person's mind when he/she says the rosary, whether vocally or mentally. And, therefore, claiming that distractions prevent somebody from saying the rosary is to deny that natural structure and function of the mind. And, as you rightly said, the more we fight off these distractions and continue with the rosary every day, the more reward we get from saying the daily rosary. And, as you said, also, dwelling on the mystery we are praying about (Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious, Luminous) will help us fight off these distractions. That was great lecture!

Thank you, thay makes sense, I preserver in saying the Rosary but sometimes feel like I am offending God because of the distractions, but now I see I must be doing it correctly. I thought my perserverance was just my stubborn pride

We must cling to the rosary regardless of the praying our best it is a powerful weapon , God knows how much we have to deal with , keep the faith , never fear , we are with Our Blessed Mother

Daily I say the rosary to and from work while driving in silence. I do have to respond to the road, but it is a very therapeutic ritual. I hope this does not offend Mary or our dear Lord.

At some level of your being, you did pray the mystery. Try a scriptural or artwork Rosary. Both can help avoid distractions. I do not pray over, as I risk lapsing into scrupulosity. The Lord knows our hearts, and what we are made of. It is said that the Lord is not so much concerned about straying, as he loves our return. Like a spiritual prodigal.

Even saints dealt with distractions. St. Therese of Liseux's tactic was to calmly pay your attention back to your prayer. Oftentimes we can get distracted by the distractions even more, if we painfully fault us for our attention shortage, which is not the way to go. The spirit is strong, but the flesh is weak. God is understanding.

If you are UNwillingly distracted it is NOT a sin, it is when you willingly let yourself be distracted, that it is a sin. No need to repeat the prayers again, unless you really think you butchered it. Always pray through Mary's intercession, she perfects and sanctifies our prayers.

If you just get an empty room to yourself, leave all things behind except the things you absolutely need to say the rosary. (Being new to praying the rosary, I have printed out the prayers I need). Then allow yourself the simple 25 minutes for private prayer. It's just 25 minutes. Not a huge task to complete. It's very meditative if you do it regularly

I sometimes pray the Rosary with others online, but i have no problem praying it. I ask Mary for different intentions on each bead or sometimes i repeat the same intention on 3 beads in a row, then i change it. It keeps your mind at work by changing intentions and before you know it your on the last decade. A Catholic Minute is a prayer site and they have the most beautifully said All Mysteries Rosary ive ever heard. And resulting from Praying the Sorrowful Mysteries on this Rosary ive had union of heart ♥ with Jesus a few times, its a supernatural experiance and has brought me so much closer to Jesus.... This same site has many prayers and even includes children praying on some. They say prayers with true heartfelt emotion and at a perfect pace.

We must do the best we can and keep going. For instance in the Sorrowful Mysteries we can break up the Hail Mary by saying "Jesus in Agony - Jesus scourged, Jesus crowned with thorns, Jesus carrying the cross, Jesus crucified" . I find this centres me better. We could extend the words if we like. This method was promoted by St. Louis Marie de Montford. Try it.

I try to pray at least 5 decades each day, i started learning to pray the rosary while going to Rcia, sometimes it was like something would stop my voice. I have a rosary booklet, which also has bible verses for each of the mysteries, but sometimes find it easier to pray while walking around rather then sitting, or kneeling

Hello Renin. I'm not familiar with this devotion, but just looked it up. It seems to have received a favourable response from the Catholic hierarchy, which does not mean that it is certainly divinely revealed. I also checked the prayers, and they seemed fine to me, since they only build on the Rosary. I would suggest to stick to the traditional Rosary and wait for a more official future approval of this devotion. The great advantage of the Rosary in its original form is that it is short and yet very profound. So it is easy to stick to it daily. It is best prayed with a meditation on the mysteries. If however, the devotion you mention is producing good fruits of greater love for God and dedication to the Church, then please go ahead.

I agree, I’m trying to follow the transcript.

tell me why that after almost 6 yrs reciting the Rosary each day mainly in church; 1hr to hr/half including other prayers that I had to stop praying last yr because after my session I would become very angry and start cursing and even smashed my crucifix without knowing why. I have tried s.times the Rosary but still feel bad. IT DOES NOT WORK IN MY CASE.........very confused and no answer Can't find priest for guidance.............exorcism

Hello Nick. Why are you not able to speak to a priest in your church? Are you able to go to Confession and explain to the priest there what you are experiencing? You seem to have been very devoted to your Rosary and other prayers. Is there a priest in another parish with whom you can speak if you are unable to receive guidance in your own parish? @@HeraldsoftheGospel_official Thank you for your kind message.I was able to go to the Latin Mass yesterday, which is always the last Sunday of the month that the Bishop allows just one Latin mass a month. Before mass I was able to go to confession and said to the priest about my condition.I asked if he would kindly speak to the Bishop about an exorcism. I have come to the point life is unbearable and God has abandonned me. I still believe and not give up. What a difference the Latin Mass is;far more reverence filled with children, teenagers and young parents In the N O mass I never see children; maybe by design that "they" go after children first and eventually these churches close down You have spurred me on and I thank you

Hello. Praying the Rosary on your device is quite different than paying attention to other things on your device while you are praying the Rosary. It seems that this is the distinction that Br. Vincent is making. Using technology to help us grow in our faith and increase our spiritual life is not a bad thing at all, as we can see the Brothers here using technology to further the message of the importance of praying the Rosary. God bless you.

This was a good video however I wish you d done the video the other way round . It felt like a telling off and then the good bit was at the end . How many people stuck through it? If we d had the beginning the reassurrance 1st and then tips to improve . Its very hard being a lay person these days. There is so much joise so little sanctuary it takes great determination and grace to be able to achieve for so many people no wonder they are put off

Do not stop praying the Rosary. I think it was St Louis de Montfort was the one that said the worst Rosary is the one not prayed. Honestly as long as you’re trying your best, that is all that is required. Don’t sweat if it’s perfect or not. I know St Padre Pio told a guy the most beautiful rosary was the one prayed when you didn’t want to pray it. I have ADD/OCD and every other thing to distract me, but I keep grinding because I need the Rosary. It makes Our Lqdy so happy because I’m trying. Think of a kid drawing something for his parents, the kid tries so hard and even though it looks like a 5 yo drew it, to the parent it’s the most beautiful picture ever cuz it’s out of love. Same thing with the Rosary for Our Lady, as long as we keep trying our best and give our all, those are the most beautiful. But I say again, DO NOT STOP PRAYING THE ROSARY. It would be foolish to stop
