3 DAIRY-FREE COFFEE CREAMERS: Recipes + Taste, Texture, Separation Comparison
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video I show you how to make dairy-free coffee creamers from scratch. This is an indepth look at cashew, almond, and coconut creamers: I’m testing them in hot coffee, looking at taste, texture, splitting, and much more. At the end of the video I share my final thoughts as well as pros and cons of each creamer.
A lot of store-bought milk alternatives have emulsifiers, thickeners, preservatives, aromas, and loads of sugar in them, so making your own at home is not only cheaper but so much more bueno for you.

Hi June 👋🏻 thank you so much ☺️ i think date is important, i often forget that homemade creamers dont have any preservatives and they have a much shorter shelf life.
Hello I just found your channel a few hours ago, I subscribed, and immediately decided to try one of the creamer recipes. I am not vegan or vegetarian but I love food and want to incorporate more clean plant-based food in my diet. I will be starting a biblical Daniel fast for 21-30 days, and the fast consists of a vegan diet with no added or proceesed sugar, so I have been preparing by researching healthy and yummy recipes I can make. I have spent a lot of hours just searching for a vegan creamer, and although some of the other recipes sound good, your recipes are by far the cleanest recipes I have found, since I am not alound to add sugar to my food, these creamers will work. I have a major sweet tooth and was super skeptical that your creamer would be any good, and boy I was actually surprised. I decided to follow your recommendation, and do half cashew and half coconut, and I was so surprised that it was actually good, and my husband agrees. I think next time, I may try more cashews and little less coconut to see if I like that better, so the coconut flavor isn't as strong. I look forward to trying some of your other recipes. If you have any favorites that you think a non-vegan person like myself will love, please do share. Best wishes.

Thanks so much for your detailed video. You did a lot of work to make the vid. There are lots of another videos about alternatives to dairy creamer but many do not mention that the alternative creamers can curdle, especially if not warmed up. Again, thanks.

@SUPERCELL COC Achint 💯 agree! I love experiencing new foods, one if the biggest joys of life. I think most things can be made healthier if we focus on quality and quantity. In my experience as a coach, restrictions are never a solution, not long-term anyway.
Which one do you think is better for cold foam? I really love heavy cream because it makes a creamy cold foam. But for the plant based I can’t seem to get it right when making at home. But from the video cashew looked more comparable! But what are your thoughts?? Edit: I’ve made some combo milks like coconut & cashew. Or oat & coconut. Even oat+cashew+coconut and it seemed like a great idea but got slimy on me which was weird bc the first time I made oat milk it was not slimy at all! Like I was surprised I did super well the first time. But every time after was a fail 😭😭. And I really like oat milk. It’s cheaper but just finicky.

Hi, thank you for your message! I would personally go with coconut + cashew combo and its good in cold drinks. About the oak milk.. i live it so much too but only Oatley brand. Their barista style creamer is superb 👍🏻 but its impossible to recreate at home, mine always comes out slimy! Oatley use special enzyme that breaks down sliminess during the process. But yea, i'm with you on the heavy cream 😋 its unbeatable! If you don't have dairy sensitivity, i think its a great choice if you can get one made from grass-fed cows 🐄 cheers ☕️
@TheCRYSTALLURE

@@HolisticLongevity noted: Cashew & Coconut. I’ll check out Oatley too to compare. I’ve read up on some people who made it at home with the enzyme process like Oatley; I believe Downshiftology was the first I checked out who did it on YT. But even that’s a process. But worth a try, so I’ll try it on my next round.😅 I did read toasting the oats or using malt/malt barley helps too! Maybe you can do a video if you ever try? Thank you for responding to me so fast. I appreciate it!

@@TheCRYSTALLURE of course, thank YOU for taking the time to comment! Its definitely worth to try, i didn't know about the toasting process 🤔 i think that would be an interesting video to do 👍🏻
Thank you for an incredible video tutorial. I make almond milk nearly weekly and add 1/4 cup of sunflower seeds to the 1 cup of almonds because they contain lecithin which can help with emulsion. Although, I don't really notice a huge difference. Do you use raw or roasted cashews for the cashew creamer?
@HolisticLongevity
Жыл бұрын
Oh wow, this is actually genius to add sunflower seeds! I never even thought about it. I use raw cashews for mine, i personally prefer my creamers more neutral tasting not to take away from tasting the actual coffee ☕️
@Hopeinformer

@@HolisticLongevity Thank you, I saw it in another video on here a while ago and have been doing it that way ever since. I'm definitely going to try the cashews in my next batch. I love their extra creaminess and as you mentioned you don't have to strain them. Although, if I do strain them I'll add a probiotic to the pulp and stick it in a warm place for a couple days and have vegan cream cheese. Win-win 😊

I LOVE that idea BUT how would i make French vanilla?
@HolisticLongevity
Жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for this question! I would choose cashew or almond as a base (cashew is more neutral tasting thought) and add vanilla extract and maple syrup for sweetness ☕️🥛👍🏻
If you have a freeze dryer make several different so you have enough to fill your freeze dryer trays with. And freeze dry your coffee creamer that you just made, and once done you can place into a blender or a food processor ingrained into a powder. This can be stored in mason jar or mylar pouches up to 20 years

@HolisticLongevity
2 жыл бұрын
Hello Maxie, sorry for a late reply. I love oat milk, Oatley is my favorite but making something similar is very tricky. I've tried and tried and its just... not even close, quite think and very "oaty" 🙂 What i found out is that they use a secret enzyme process with their oat milk, where enzymes absorb the slimy part of the oats. I will keep trying though to recreate this at home 👍🏻
👍👍
❤
Nice tips. I think I will make all three like you did. Coffee creamers are getting really expensive at the grocery store and they're filled with gums😒 Over $5 dollars for some creamer? Maybe $6 depending on where you're at.
@HolisticLongevity

You are so right, they are really costly! I usually get Oatly Barista when I don't make my own and its up there.. hope you try all 3 and see for yourself which one you prefer, thank you so much for the comment 🙏🏻🙂
