Great teaching
So comforting to know that d', t' or n' sounds (like most other consonants) exist in Czech (I believe in Slovak too) not just in Hungarian.😌😌😌 The letters are a bit different (d'=gy, t'=ty, n'=ny) but they mark pretty much the same sound. That "Ř" sound however demands some practicing. We don't have that sound😮🧐 The most "difficult" sound in Hungarian is d' (or "gy"). Western Europeans still tend to struggle with the latter one as it doesn't really exist in their language (nor anything similar).
The best teacher👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️
Ma'am you're amazing .When you're pronouncing each letters.Its easy to catchup.Thank you soo much.Keep going ma'am💯

one of my friends who speaks czech reccomended for ř to basically say the word "rush" until you make it ř

that's great! just make sure you use the rolling R, but not the English version of R, when you say the rush.

It is strange, the for Hungarians is very easy to pronounce almost all the special Czech letters (maybe except ř), even though we don't much in common with any Slavic language.
@CzechWithKaterina
3 жыл бұрын
Wow cool! I am not familiar with Hungarian, but maybe the sounds that are in your language can be pretty similar... do you have all the soft sounds except for Ř? Or do you think it might be that Hungarian is so rich on sounds that it is simply easy for you guys to learn any other language..? :)))
I’m using your app and lot of words don’t have sound? Is that how it’s supposed to be. 😢 I’m on lesson 2 and a good 10 words just in lesson two don’t have sound. Even though there is the 🔊 button :(

for those of us who speak Spanish and are not musicians, it is difficult to distinguish these sounds because they seem very similar to each other. T and Ť ď and ť ž and j , I hope you can create a video to focus on them..Pleease 😀😀

Dobrý den! Jsem z Brazílie a učím se česky protože miluji svůj jazyk. Tak, mám pochyby. O souhlásky v... sorry, I'll have to shift to English... my Czech is not good enough 😪. In many recordings I can swear I hear V pronounced as B! I hear Báclav, or rozbod, instead of Václav or rozvod. I know v will devoice to f (Václaf) and d to t (rozvot). But I can't find anyone to explain why I hear B instead of V - and this is not the devoicing of the consonant. On the other hand, when you pronounce your Vs I don't hear B... can you help, please? Maybe I'm wrong and just can't hear the sounds well...

Really?? That is the first time I hear about this issue. If you hear someone say Václavské náměstí or babička, doesthat sound the same???
I recognize the description "Ď is D but softer" from other languages, but it never made sense to me. To me, it sounds like "DJ". Why is it not described that way, is the sound actually different?
@CzechWithKaterina
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris, yes, that's exactly the reason - DJ would be actually pronounced differently in Czech than Ď.
Funfact: the hook used on č,ď,ě,ň,ř,š,ť,ž is called a caron in english and its pronounced The same as the name karen

As a slavic,i can say most of them mainly correctly,but the ř is killing me faster than the people saying that our salty milk (кисело мляко) is yogurt
