“How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
Welcome to the Young Nails family!

Never tried your brand but I will now!!! Thanks Guys 🥰🤩👍
I was actually hoping you could address the problems with tips that occur when the nails point upward. Sometimes it's fine for a square nail but for stiletto or almond when you need the tip to angle down sightly, it's difficult to achieve. What are your tips and tricks for those situations? A video would be much appreciated. Thanks Greg 😁
Thanks for the video. 💅💅💅💅💅💅💅
Perfect video
Thanks guys great video. The only thing I would have liked to see mentioned is placement of the tip insofar as how far down the nail you want to be playing the tip when adhering. Seeing so many people gluing tips half way down the nail plate or more 😕
That just showed me a lot and I even see where I made a few mistakes as well
Such an easy to follow video just like the others. That's why I come back. I'm actually trying out the YN brush on glue for the first time. On a safety note, nail lamps put out uv light which is not good for skin. It's been recommended to apply sunscreen to the hands to protect yourself. But you'd want to make sure you wipe it off of your nails though that way it wouldn't interfere with product adhesion.
@belamourbeauty
Жыл бұрын
This has been disproven by Doug shoon leading scientist in the nail industry. You get more uv exposure from one day driving in your car than one year of uv light usage.
Hi I'm just starting out if you can have a black background so when you put the glue on the tip we will be able to see how much glue you were adding to the tip so it can be placed on the nail thank you for reading and understanding 😊
Thanks for been my teacher
So helpful. It would so awesome if you could take nail classed via video like your video school. I am not able to go to nail school but want so much to become an nail tech. I've done my own nails on and off for years but cannot afford to quit my current job.

I would love to see acrylic to monomer ratio. I’m sure you already have a video on this and if so I’d love a link to it please!
Super helpful thank you. I noticed your tips are quite talon like and thin is that just so that you can have a better angle to build on? Like when I put them up to my nail they point down quite a bit but maybe that’s just so that you can use the builder gels to get a better apex?
@youngnailsinc
2 жыл бұрын
Our tips are designed to be very thin so you can build the structure with your acrylic or hard gel since these products are stronger than just the plastic tips. As for the curve, if your natural nail has a more dramatic curve, the tip is going to follow that curve and it will look even more curved. If the natural nail has that extreme curve, it may be better to sculpt the extension so you can form it straight out from the natural nail instead of curving with the tip.

Kings 🤗🤗🤗
Thank you as always. Question: so it is better to file the tip for the gel applications only or also for acrylic application too??
@youngnailsinc
3 жыл бұрын
it wouldn't mess the nail up if you did when applying acrylic but you don't have to. With gel or hard gel you have to prep the surface of the tip.
Im a big fan of YN
So what if you don’t fine one that is “just right”. Do you file down a larger one?
@hunnybunnie92747

essentially yes! you want to trim the sidewalls bit by bit until they match yours!
Hello Greg I was wondering if you could do a video that gives us tips on how to put on the nail tips straight. Thanks in advance!
@youngnailsinc
Жыл бұрын
When applying tips, line them up so they are straight with the finger, not the nail. This will assure they are straight when adhered.
Love this channel. For a beginner, I learn so much from your videos. I do have a question though. My nailbeds and fingertips keep getting irritated whenever I change my nails. I typically do a new set every few days to once a week. Am I just not allowing enough time for healing?

idk why but for me none of the tips ive tried with two brands work, they just don't fit and are too curved for my natural nails so even the biggest size has to be forced down I guess it's because my nails are really flat and don't have the curve so the nail tip can attach :/

My beauty school is lacking financially because of covid , our nail technician program only has about 10 students In it and we would all be so grateful if YN sent some products for us to use in our kits. If anyone reading this knows of a brand who would also like to contribute to our kits and help out some aspiring nail technicians then please let me know. We love YN but we will take anything that’s offered... they don’t know I’m asking around so it will be a surprise to the girls but they work hard and really love this industry , including myself. Hope you are all doing well and please don’t feel obligated at all I just figure asking can’t hurt much and if we do get to enhance our products I feel we can produce way better work and this learn easier and faster

Hello, U didn't add the base coat before applying gel, is that ok? There is no issue? Because I've done that before without base coat and I noticed it is stuck perfectly and for longer time ,so is that ok to don't use it at all? I hope u answer my question 💙
Ok .. So lets say im going to apply a dark acrylic so a base of clear acrylic has to be applied first so it wont stain the nail... Instead of using clear acrylic can clear building gel be applied in stead of the clear aclylic and then add the dark one?
Miss seen you guys videos been gone for a lil 😔so busy doing stuff 😖
Do y’all have any advice for me when it comes to having a flat nail bed and using tips? One of my thumbs has a flat nail bed. You’re so correct. Small tip will then pop and cause air pocket. Should I use a big mail tip that hangs over the edge anyways and file it to customize it? I stopped using nail tips though because of this. Just doesn’t go well with my thumb but I quite enjoy sculpting.

I bet they would encourage continued use of forms. Especially if you're enjoying it😊 Many people find them difficult or frustrating. So once in a while, YN will give advice on using tips, for those folks. But mostly, they discourage using them.

always use the bigger size and file the edges
I attempted to do a set on myself as a beginner with tips and my natural nail started to pull away from the nail bed, what did I do wrong? I assumed it was because the nail tip was too small so I tried a bigger size and the same thing happened on another nail.
If you were to do a baby boomer nail what color nail tips would you use? Natural, clear, or white
