Josh Hart was telling Thibs he was staying in. Thibs would ask if he was alright to go, and Hart would give him the thumbs up. The Thibs running players into the ground is a shit narrative. Hart got injured because of overplay, but what else would they do? Play shake Milton or Jericho Sims? Those players would sink the Knicks if they played any significant number of minutes. By the point that Hart got injured, the Knicks were down to scraps, and any coach would play their players that many minutes. No one on the Knicks even came close to the top 10 minutes in the regular season.

I don’t think it was hate but I’m not sure most fans realize the state of the roster. Probably most playoff rotations are 8-9. Thibs went 8 more times than not. The team just had crap luck with injuries. Bojan went down then Mitch. Those guys weren’t being overworked. But when they went down it forced more minutes on the starters. Hart wouldn’t even be playing that many minutes if Randle never went down. Injuries are 90% of the time bad luck. Memphis team was wrecked with injuries and I never hear anything by minutes about them.

I disagree on the thibbs thing. It's not his fault some of the players got hurt. Mitchell Robinson, randle, and Bojan was not his fault. And there's no definable data to show that everyone else got hurt cause of him. You want Jacob toppin and Jericho Sims playing minutes? In a playoff game? Hard to do when the margins of victory is that small. He's gonna get paid cause he's the best knicks coach in a long time

I don’t know. It is true that other coaches would also look a lot better in the short term if they played their starters for 45+ minutes a game, but that they avoid it for a reason. When you do something that everyone else agrees is bad/dangerous, and the thing they warned about happens, you’re probably in the wrong.

Here's the thing. Thibs sacrifices player health for wins. It's a trade-off. They wouldn't be nearly as good if those guys didn't play so much. That's just how he coaches. The team knows that when they hire him, the players know that when they sign there. You may not agree with the approach, but it does get more results with less and will not change. I find it fascinating. It certainly has a negative impact on player health and longevity, however it probably gives his team the best chance to win. He could win a ring with less talent than most other coaches, its just playing roulette as to wether the players will survive all the way through the finals.

We don’t make it this far in the playoffs without them being overplayed. It’s the playoffs everyone is willing to buy in and put everything on the line. We did what we could and over achieved. I like MPJ, but he fell short this postseason. But same can becsaid of Gordon. Both scored in single digits too many times, not helping Jokic & Murray. But i also have to say, MPJ needs to dedicate himself more. He has become too complacent just staying at 3 point line. He needs to be more like KD & shoot midrange. When he drives to basket, a lil contacts bothers him too much, needs to develop a floater then if he cant make it all the way to basket.

Terrible Thibs take. The Knicks had legit no choice, all of the injuries suffered in the regular season (and playoffs besides OG's) were contact plays, injuries not caused by overplaying whatsoever. Heck, you look at the Knicks' minutes, the only Knick ranking in the top 25 in mpg was Jalen Brunson at 14th (a very normal amount of mins for a superstar). Nobody was ridiculously overplayed until they had no choice because everybody got hurt. It's either that or they play literal G-Leaguers in the playoffs, none of that is Thibs' fault.

Pacers would not be here if wasn't by other teams injuries, first they don't play Giannis and Lillard, then Randle, Robinson, OG, Bojan. this is so sad. i wish the worst for both teams.

They would never do this for Kyrie. I’m so glad the Mavs have Kyrie and not Dereck Fisher 2.0

Let's not use injury to key players as an excuse for the demise of a team or a free pass for opposing teams to advance.its called breaks of the game-if a team doesn't prepare its bench to step up,they deserve to lose

This is a retarded take. By the time Brunson breaks his hand in the 3rd quarter the Knicks had lost about half of their roster to injuries not "a few key players" like you suggest. By your logic the 12th man on a bench should apparently be able to produce like an all star if the coach somehow just gets them ready.

based on the luck of Pacers and Celtics in their playoffs run, i don't doubt Edwards, Gobert, Irving or Doncic get injuried in the finals

Celtics and Pacers got lucky tbh. Injuries are part of the game but they were just playing teams that were down on their luck. Neither of them have enough to beat the Mavs or Wolves.

Celtics would have gotten here regardless, Pacers likely wouldn't have beaten the Bucks in round one, also the Mavs don't stand a chance against the Celtics, haven't beaten them in years and Kyrie has been cursed whenever he faces them
