Beer cocktails are a pretty niche category of drink; I’m usually in the mood for a beer or a cocktail but rarely both. These recipes changed my mind.

Having lived in Germany in the late 90s and seeing that slogan on literally every car in the country, I appreciate your bitberger pun

Living in Germany now, I feel you on that pun!
Do the Dirty Flower: Hefeweissen (white wheat beer), gin, grapefruit juice, bitters. The gin and grapefruit really brings out the flowers in the beer.
@TsiniWeeny

This caught my attention! Do you have measurements/a recipe?!
@johnwallace2319
3 жыл бұрын
@@TsiniWeeny no, it is from the Shanghai brewery menu in shanghai, maybe they have more info online, though I doubt it. The key though is not to let the ingredients overshadow the floweriness in the beer. I think it must have been about 1/4 juice to beer, and then we are talking small amounts of the others. I imagine every brand for each ingredient is different, so happy mixing, when you get it right, it is like a field of flowers and the near high-feeling of too much gin and a good time.

Sounds like a witbier, or a white ipa would also be great with that combination. A 50/50 Hefeweizen and champagne mix is also nice.

The Bitter ein Bit name fills me with pride as a German and is really clever, even though Bitburger is one of the lesser liked beer brands, especially in south Germany.

The Detroiter would've been right at home on this list. Applejack, honey, lemon, cynar, and hazy ipa. Soooo good.

I read your comment and tho I’d never heard of The Detroiter, I really liked the sound of it….. Cut to a few hours later and I’ve one in my hand right now, and there’s no question - it is by far the best beer cocktail I’ve ever tasted, so thank you!

Once again... too funny and rather clever with the "Bitter ein Bit"! Having lived and served in Bitburg, FRG back in the early '90's, I can very much appreciate the cleverness and bitterness (a rather acquired taste) Bitburger can have on a lot of people (reminds of the old "Bitter Beer Face" commercials!). Nonetheless, these look like something I need to try! Thanks for the ideas and memories!

Try a Black Velvet sometime, if you want a classy beer cocktail. Just mix equal parts of sparkling wine/champagne and Guinness (gently layer the Guinness over the bubbly).

Another delicious purely Irish twist is to layer/float a 1/2 glass Guinness over a 1/2 glass Magners Irish cider!
I just made the cerveza-roni and it is awesome! Perfect for a warm summer day! Cheers!
Yay!! I have everything (ish) for the Cervezaroni. Off to the fridge!!
Im kind of a heavy beer drinker, even if right now im enjoying a great mulled wine, but some beer cocktails are simply a game changer! Thank you for your work! 👏👏🤗
I’ve been looking for a video like this for a while. I’ve never been a craft beer guy but I have friends who leave them in my house all the time. Love these recipes as repurposing options.
Beer cocktails have always seemed cool to me, thanks for the inspiration
Great to see you back. Hope the family is doing well. Getting in a round of cocktails and recording videos has to be a juggling act for you these days. Love seeing some new beer cocktails right in time for the warm weather cheers.
Beer cocktails are great for summer weather. Really refreshing
Dude, I appreciate your non-english pronunciation so much. Simple detail that shows respect for each of your ingredients.
I love that Take Five is in the background
Super excited to see you use the pils from Crux!
I always thought that beer cocktails are gross, but today I tried to make Bitter ein Bit with some hoppy pilsner, and it's wow! So refreshing, it's amazing! How I have never tried beer cocktails before? Thank you!
Been waiting for this episode!
cool cocktails, but there's an older one I've had that is just always a delight, a favorite of @5sf , the bromosa. Simply orange juice and a pale ale of some kind, I usually choose rolling rock.
A new Cocktail chemist video! yes please - you're the best pal! Thanx for making covidia filled with cocktails!
this will come in handy for the lockdown
I will be trying these soon! They look delicious. My favorite which is extremely basic is a mexican beer, ice, lime juice, a shot of tequila and finish with tajin
Had a Crux Pilz last night. Great choice.
The cerveceroni looks pretty cool. I'll try it for sure!
The best beer cocktail i ever had was The Quartermaster. Equal parts lager, cider, ale and stout. So well balanced, refreshing but hearty.
Excellent vid, I'ma try these. Also, west coast IPA on top of a Negroni is pretty stellar too 🍻
My favorite twist on a pilsner is to just add a drop of hot sauce to it. I recommend a fruity hot sauce, maybe something based on habanero. Also works great with a plain blonde.
Your German is awesome, big props for that ;)
When i was a student we used to drink "beer and lime" sometimes, which was basically beer from the tap with lime cordial. Nice!
Shandy is big in Jamaica, they call it "Radler" in Germany. Was never much for beer cocktails, but some of these look great.
The best beer cocktail I've ever had is the Boilermaker House Sour, made here in Melbourne, Australia at the bar Boilermaker House. Educated Barfly did a video on it. Essentially a scotch and passionfruit sour topped off with IPA.
Ha! I see the Crux beer. Went to college in Bend, Or. that place is dope as hell and makes good beer!
There are only 3 acceptable beer mixes: Radler - 50:50Beer and lemonade Diesel - 50:50 Beer and Coke and one Beer mixed with the same beer to have more beer. Everything else is just Bierquälerei.

Nice video. Not sure if it has already been said, but I love a Wisconsin Lunchbox: 1 oz of Southern Comfort, 1 oz of amaretto liqueur, then about equal parts of orange juice and a Belgian white like Blue Moon into a beer glass. Go heavier on the OJ if you like things sweeter.
Idk if it's somenthing traditional here in sicily but in my family we drink beer and sprite since 50 years, so i'm really excited to try this cocktails 😁
I love spirit works boozes, its a short bike ride to them. I've made many sloe gin cocktails from theirs, now I have a new one to try.
Two of my favorites are Jim Meehan’s Black Flip, which is a desert-y type with a chocolate stout and the Picon Biere, which is France’s version of a Shandy with a pilsner or kolsch and Amer China-China (the best approximation of the long-gone Amer Picon).
Braggot is a beer mead cocktail. I put a Taj Mahal or any IPA in a 1L stein and top up with a dry chilled mead. Pretty good any time of year. Very simple and tasty.
What about making drinks from A Clockwork Orange? There's quite a number in the book if I remember right: fx. A drink that mixes rum and beer.

my favourite beer cocktail will forever remain "grog" which as far as i'm aware is any 2 ounces of rum in a pint glass topped with with any beer or ale my personal favourite recipe is the kraken rum dark rum topped with guinness, it's heavenly! the flavours work so insanely well together it's basically chocolate, malt and spice it's possible that this isn't the grog cocktail but that's what i've heard it called is so that's what i call it.

A great one) Love it too) We in Russia have a family of drinks, called yorsh (ёрш), which is basically beer with hard alcohol, usually vodka. Some people experiment with different types of beer and alcohol. One more great example of "yorsh" with Guiness is an Irish Car bomb: a Pint of Guiness with a shot of Bellis. Try it)

One of my favorite beer cocktails is the Spaghet. 1oz Campari 1oz lemon juice 1 can of American lager (Something local if I can or good ol’ Pabst)
I don't see myself going for a beer cocktail but you made these look enticing
I live only a mile from Maui brewing company, and they turned me on to beer cocktails, with a pair of fantastic offerings: Beer Mai Tai: pineapple juice, orgeat syrup, Pineapple Mana (Maui BrewCo's pineapple wheat beer) and then topped with a floater of their coconut porter. The Float: just a scoop of vanilla in their coconut porter... But I usually kick it up a notch, and have them use the imperial coconut, which comes in at almost 10%. It combines to taste like a chocolate milkshake.
⭐Beer cocktails made respectable! Intriguing!⭐
Have you tried a wild flip? Not a summer style beer cocktail, its like a carbonated eggnog, super good.
A whiskey sour with extra lemon topped up with wheat beer is delicious.
Hey man another awesome content as always. But what was that science at 1:10 about double straining to get rid of nucleation point, something like that. Looking forward for this one.
I am so excited to see Crux Fermentation Project beers outside of Bend nowadays. One of the best, most underrated breweries out there

They've been distributing out of bend for a long time.
So a few months ago my uncle told me that he tried this thing called a beer beertini in Florida. All he did was take a Budweiser and add 1 to 5 olives straight in the bottle. Apparently it was so good when my dad tried it he's done it a few more times than my uncle. And he never adds anything else other than salt or lime.
My dad made a GREAT beer cocktail. Equal parts #frozen pink lemonade #fill empty lemonade cane with Hennessy or bourbon # then fill lemonade can with your choice of beer. Mix all in a pitcher. Serve cold over ice. Its DELICIOUS. Let me know how you like it.
And Binging With Cocktails does it again!

Shandy. Sounds like a hard Radler I like it!
I'm a big "michelada in the summertime" guy, but this has inspired me to explore beyond that for beer cocktails. I'm pretty sure I can't get sloe gin where I live, but I'm also pretty sure I could substitute any quality gin along with a bit of simple syrup and some citrus bitters for that shandy.

Finally, a good 5 minute craft video.
My favourite beer cocktail has to be the "Birkir", which is just half a bottle of beer refilled with cheap Finnish kir. It's regularly drunk before watching swedish football matches.
New subscriber, came here looking for variations on whiskey / bourbon drinks. Have you considered creating playlists sorted by the primary spirit used for each drink? eg, a whiskey playlist, a vodka playlist, a gin playlist, etc? It would be much easier to find specific drinks that way. Otherwise, an excellent channel, entertaining and educational!
