I love what you do, man. Your work has completely changed my game prep and world building. And ICRPG has allowed my daughters to enjoy role playing like no other system has to date. Keep it up!

Great episode. Ive been into yoga and meditation pretty hardcore for years. Ive long been theorizing about creating an RPG that uses techniques to enhance imagination. My Idea is kind of like this: everybody sits comfortably in darkness around an oil lamp on the floor and does certain meditations for maybe 20min before starting. When the game starts (also played in near darkness) there will be no movement or talking out of character at all. "Rolling" would not be done with dice but something requiring almost no movement thats based on sound like a bell or clicking wheel kind of mechanism telling failure, partial or full success. After sessions you never talk about it. Problem is to find people that are comfortable with this and dont find it ridiculous but you could immerse yourself in your imagination so hard this way it would almost be real.

Another thing I like to do is sit in near darkness when I have fully preped the next session and just imagine everything as detailed as I can..look NPCs in the face..get a feel for them...walk through the dungeon ect. After that you can be sure that you have mastered your prep. Only takes a few minutes.

Godi Ferinale, that was nice. I haven't done any form of meditation for over a year and that was very soothing. Nice one!

Awesome! Loved this episode! I've experimented with meditation for a very long time, and found that, especially exercise #2 and #3 are ones I naturally gravitate toward. For my Exercise #2, I feel my conscious and subconscious thoughts as tension, and rid myself of the tension by "letting go" or "releasing", allowing it to be pushed down and away into blackness. For my step #3, I focus on breathing, then "visualise" my fingertips, toes, or tip of my nose, and create "energy" there - a sensation I cause myself to actually feel. I practice moving it about, with the final goal of flooding my entire body in its warmth, especially the pericardial cavity, heart, lungs, and brain (which is hardest because there is no sense of touch there - it ends up being more of a presence). It has really helped with physical and emotional pain. I've also heard of anxiety therapy where the psychiatrist/ psychologist has their patient perform something like exercise #1

Awesome work Hank. You have been a constant inspiration as a super creative individual and a deep thinker for many years (since your cockatrice impersonation lol). Thanks for sharing. I am on a similar journey myself and I am happy to learn from others such as yourself who are further along in the journey than I am.
