Zane’s on Cameo!!

On one side of the court stand two formidable professionals, Zane Navratil and Carlos Di Laura (Co-Founder of the Lab, Austin) face off with 3 5.0 players: Hao, Marcelo, and the ever-recognizable Austin, whose mustache has become something of a trademark.
The premise is simple: can three skilled enthusiasts outmaneuver and outplay two seasoned pickleball pros? The battleground is set, with $500 and Marcelo's beloved dog on the line. It's a match that promises not only thrilling rallies but also a testament to the spirit of competition.
As the game commences, spectators hold their breath, anticipating every serve, volley, and smash. The pickleball pros, with their years of experience and honed techniques, showcase a mastery of the sport. Their movements are calculated, their shots precise, each play executed with finesse.
Yet, the 5.0 amateurs refuse to back down. With determination blazing in their eyes, they rally with resilience, matching the pros shot for shot. Led by sheer grit and a hunger for victory, they prove to be formidable opponents, keeping the game neck and neck.
Ranked No. 9 and 2 in doubles and singles respectively by the Association of Pickleball Professionals (APP), and No. 41 in singles play by the Pro Pickleball Association (PPA), Navratil has etched his name in the annals of the sport's history with a resplendent display of skill and tenacity.
Affectionately dubbed "Gucci" by players and commentators alike, Navratil's moniker serves as a testament to his unparalleled mastery of the game. With over 80 medals adorning his illustrious career, Navratil's journey from amateur enthusiast to professional stalwart is nothing short of inspirational.
Navratil's odyssey into the world of pickleball commenced amidst a backdrop of varied athletic pursuits, including a burgeoning love affair with tennis. Introduced to the sport at the tender age of 10, Navratil's affinity for tennis blossomed, culminating in a trifecta of Wisconsin state championships for The Prairie School from 2012 to 2014.
Navratil embarked on a relentless pursuit of pickleball excellence. Transitioning from amateur enthusiast to full-time professional in 2020, Navratil's ascent through the ranks has been meteoric, cementing his status as one of the preeminent figures in the global pickleball pantheon.
Beyond his formidable prowess on the court, Navratil's impact transcends mere competition. A fervent advocate for the sport's growth and accessibility, Navratil traverses the country, imparting his wisdom and expertise through immersive pickleball clinics.
In a realm where every stroke is imbued with the promise of triumph, Navratil's legacy endures as a beacon of inspiration for aspirants and aficionados alike.

Wouldn't it have been a good idea if they had put one person in the Erne position all the time? In that case, Zane's team would have had to hit all their shots to only about half of the court. Does this make sense?

I would try more speedups and hand battles at the net. I believe they won most if not all of the hand battles longer than 2, 3 shots. 3 hands against 2 in a chaotic fight should give them a pretty good odd.

FOUL! 😂 Early in the match, Zane/Carlos are awarded TWO ghost points! I had to rewind to make sure I wasn't crazy. At 2:59 Zane serves at 3-3. After that point, at 3:33, the ref calls the score of 5-3 (while the scoreboard correctly shows 4-3). NO point is then awarded to the opposition on the change of serve. It should have been 4-4 at the change of serve, but the scoreboard shows 5-3. THEN, no point is awarded at the point ending @ 4:13 (which should have taken the game to 5-5). Considering the stakes of this game (the dog!), I would appeal the match be thrown out. Or, at the very least, Marcelo and company should get revenge punishment. 🤣🤣

We needed traditional scoring on this challenge. The extra serve for the 5.0s would’ve made this close.

They should have kept the same positions the entire match. I noticed that they kept switching around, and that could have been the cause of some confusion. Obviously, it takes getting used to playing that format, but if they all would've picked a position and kept it the whole time, they could've gotten more used to it and worked together better 🤷‍♂️

Man if i had 3 i would have the leftest guy sit in ernie position and the other two covering rest of the court. Would almost completely take away the crosscourt bh dink/drop and almost always force forehands.

No way these are 3.5 players. 3.5 players only dare beginning to dink and are just being able to direct their shots. These 3 have great control of their drinks, direction and strategy. Which rates them at least 4.0 to 4.25.

The most obnoxious doubles team I've seen on youtube. Why is Zane yelling "you" when the ball is hit way to the other side to his partner? And why is the other guy grunting so hard. Stop bro-ing out. You're not hitting it that hard.

Second to last rally they already won but didn’t get the point? Also these 3 5s… are 3.5s… they missed most their shots and just played poorly. Also, 0 lobs when all were at net. All they care about is hitting it hard and fast. No technique.
